Itxaso was very knowledgeable about food & gastronomy in general and was very passionate about sharing her experiences. The tour covered many different aspects of food and the samples were well chosen. Since there were only 2 of in the group, Itxaso personalized the tour to our needs and answered all our questions in detail. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her!! Thank you Itxaso!!
It was excellent! Just my husband and me with our guide. She brought us to excellent places and shared so much history with us too. It was like getting 2 tours in 1. I’d definitely do this private food tour again. I like not having a big group.
**Very Disappointing Street Food Tour — San Sebastián** We booked a street food tour through Viator tonight, paying **$245 for two people** for what was advertised as approximately a 3-hour experience with food and drink tastings. Our guide was very enthusiastic, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet our expectations. The first **30 minutes were largely spent hearing about the guide’s personal life, Haiti and her artwork**, rather than learning about San Sebastián, Basque cuisine or the local food culture. Once we finally got going, we visited **three pintxo bars**, all very close to one another. We each received three pintxos, along with **one bottle of water to share and one piece of cheesecake to share**. The tour ended around 7:30, making the actual experience closer to **1½ hours rather than the advertised three hours**. For **$245 for two people**, we expected much more — a more informative tour focused on Basque cuisine and the history behind the food, a wider variety of locations, more substantial tastings and, most importantly, better value for the price. Unfortunately, this experience was **not worth the money for us**. We were really looking forward to learning about the incredible food culture of San Sebastián, so this was especially disappointing. **Very disappointed with this tour and would not recommend it at this price.** 😞

This was an amazing tour. Our tour guide, Itxaso, was so knowledgeable and personable. She adjusted her pace to accommodate our family of 10, which included my 90-year-old mother. This was a great way to learn more about the city, its history, and highlights. And of course, the food was AMAZING. I definitely recommend this tour and lucky you if you get Ixtaso as your guide.
Our street food/pintxos tour with Jose Manuel was fabulous. He took us to several local places, explained the food options, and made excellent recommendations. Between stops he gave us additional information about San Sebastian and life in Spain. Highly recommended!
