We have done a lot of guided trips booked through Viator and in almost all cases have been very happy with the tour. This was the worst tour we have ever done using Viator. Our guide had only lived in Gothenburg for 1 year and was not comfortable speaking english. She relied on google maps to guide us from one tour stop to the next. At each stop she would consult her phone and read from it verbatim about the relevant information about that place. She did not talk between stops, was unable to give any relevant historical or cultural information or perspective. Ultimately using ChatGPT and google maps, I could have done the same thing for myself without any cost. The reason we continue to book these tours is that we appreciate the guide's local knowledge and perspective and learning from them interesting information about the places that we were touring. Although our guide seemed well-intentioned, both my wife and I felt that it was a waste of our time and money. We will continue to use Viator to help book tours when we are abroad but would ask that they maintain a higher standard regarding the guides and what they can offer to the clientele.

Dorothea provided an informative and thorough tour of central Gothenburg that we enjoyed. After our tour she prepared and sent us a good book list of restaurants and potential sights to see during our days in Gothenburg after the tour.

Aubrey met me timely at the cathedral, per our negotiated agreement. What followed was an unconventional one-on-one tour as we walked about Gothenburg. While hitting the "touristy" highlights, he included elements based on my previous touring history (i.e., we viewed public art on construction site walls). Over a beer, he asked about my travels, as I was able to suggest options for his future. By being unstructured, I had a better tour, but would suggest a more focused program for future clients.

Perfect way to see the countryside, especially the fjords and architecture of the homes. Just enough history mixed in with fun, kept it interesting. Book the trip! You won’t regret it.

The tour was very interesting and extraordinary. We also saw interesting things and visited places that one would not easily come across as a tourist. We had a wonderful 2 hours and highly recommend it. The initial contact via WhatsApp was a bit difficult at first, but we managed everything and were able to start on time. Our guide was knowledgeable and flexible, and he also engaged with us very well.

We have used Viator in many different cities but this was unusual. Our tour guide was nice and energetic but not as knowledgeable as would be expected with Viator and was not from the area. He was a high school student and a recent immigrant.
