This is a hoax!
We did as advised and went out to the meeting point - there was NO-ONE there! We spoke to a staff member at the airport who said this has happened quite often - people show up for a tour that is non-existent……..
We had problems loading the data (yes, while we were in wifi range) & I was hoping that the person we were to meet would sort it for us……
We have totally wasted our money and want a refund…….
We travelled miles out of our way and had nothing to show for it……
Viator we want a refund.
We only had one day in the area and had to then go and try to find an alternative way of seeing Canyonlands National Park.

I’m sorry this wasn’t clear before you made the drive out there, especially with only one day available for Canyonlands.
Our Canyonlands National Park Self Guied Audio tour is a self-guided GPS audio driving tour, so there isn’t an in-person guide or Shaka Guide representative waiting at the starting location. The location you'll see in the app when you download and start the tour is where the self-guided tour route begins; the tour itself is accessed through the Shaka Guide app.
To get on the tour, your Viator purchase first needs to be redeemed in the Shaka Guide app and the tour downloaded. Once that download is complete, the tour works 100% offline using your phone's GPS, so cellular service isn’t required while you’re driving.
I really wish you’d reached out to us, Shaka Guide, directly prior or when you were trying to go on the tour—we could have helped you sort out the steps and get you on your way correctly.

better than expected
This was a good alternative to paying a lot more for a live person and riding in a van with strangers . . . we could go at our own speed, get out of truck just for things we wanted a closer look at, it skipped over things we didn't turn to do and we took breaks when we wanted. It was very informative and interesting. The only 2 suggestions: when we were told about bathrooms at visitor's center, I would have appreciated knowing that almost every trail head had a restroom, too. No need to stand in line like that was the last we'd see for a long while. Also, since we had to take our own food in if we wanted lunch, it would have been nice to be told where picnic areas were. Otherwise, good enough that we're using audio for our next park, too.

I would not recommend this audio tour to anyone.
Not at all user friendly. Waste of money.
When trying to load the app there was too many questions to answer which really didn't apply. We headed into canyonlands only to realize we did not have reception and the tour did not load. Waste of time and money.

Canyonlands National Park
We purchased audios for all our national parks. We were enjoying the narrator on the trip but half way through we lost the narrative. So for the second half we had no narration.

Best $9 you’ll spend on the trip!
Amazing audio tour! You do it at your own pace, stop where you want to stop, and the app’s GPS knows where you are and gives you the right portion of the audio!
Of course, you need to download when you have internet, but once you have it, no network is needed.
It was so good that I’m downloading another park right away! So much learned.
