Per la costruzione del complesso è stata utilizzata la pietra di travertino bianco poiché solo questa pietra era disponibile nella quantità sufficiente per una costruzione su così larga scala. L'edificio stesso ospita il Centro per le Arti Cafesjian con sale espositive dove si tengono mostre permanenti e temporanee. Le mostre vengono regolarmente aggiornate per mostrare i migliori esemplari di arte e scultura contemporanea.
Piazza Francia si trova all'incrocio tra i viali Sayat Nova e Mesrop Mashtots, vicino al Teatro Accademico Nazionale dell'Opera e del Balletto dopo A.
La prima pietra del Teatro dell'Opera ebbe luogo il 28 novembre 1930 in occasione del decimo anniversario dell'Armenia sovietica. Il 20 gennaio 1933 l'edificio fu ufficialmente inaugurato. Subito dopo la fondazione del teatro, fu istituita una compagnia di balletto. Il Lago dei Cigni di Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky fu la prima rappresentazione del balletto nel 1935.

Nice walking tour. The plan is well drawn up, and even if you have already been to Yerevan - it will be interesting, as guide Anush knows so many facts, stories, listening to it is a pleasure and the route itself a little away from the main sightseeing tour.

Hello! I was in Yerevan at the end of May. The weather is beautiful. We took a tour of Yerevan and had a guide, Anush. A wonderful girl, professional, she speaks Russian very competently, literary, and I also found out that she conducts tours in English and Spanish. She is a very interesting person.
