Qui sono sepolti Mlan Obrenovic (il figlio maggiore di Milos Obrenovic) e la coppia re Alessandro I Obrenovic e sua moglie, la regina Draga. Sul luogo dove oggi sorge la chiesa nel 1830 si leggeva l'editto dei sultani che annunciava l'autonomia serba all'interno della Turchia.
La Casa dell'Assemblea Nazionale, uno degli edifici più monumentali dell'ex Regno di Jugoslavia, fu costruita tra il 1907 e il 1936. La storia della sua costruzione, con numerose interruzioni e modifiche progettuali, e con la partecipazione dei più importanti architetti nazionali della prima metà del XX secolo, rappresenta simbolicamente la storia dello stato serbo, e poi jugoslavo e la loro vita parlamentare. Con le sue eccezionali qualità architettoniche e artistiche, il palazzo si distingue nell'ambiente architettonico della capitale. Già nel 1892, il Ministero delle costruzioni affidò la realizzazione di questo progetto all'architetto Konstantin A. Jovanovic, ma a causa di tumulti politici e difficoltà finanziarie, l'erezione dell'edificio fu rinviata di diversi anni, quando l'architetto Jovan Ilkic fu incaricato di eseguire questo compito.
Il Palazzo Vecchio, il Palazzo Reale della dinastia Obrenović della Serbia, che attualmente ospita l'Assemblea della città di Belgrado, è situato all'angolo delle strade Kralja Milana e Dragoslava Jovanovića. La Fortezza di Belgrado, è costituita dalla vecchia cittadella e dal Parco Kalemegdan sulla confluenza dei fiumi Sava e Danubio, in un'area urbana della moderna Belgrado, in Serbia. Situata nel comune di Stari Grad, la fortezza costituisce il nucleo storico specifico della città.
Il monumento ‘Vittorio’ è sicuramente il simbolo più riconoscibile di Belgrado. Fu creato negli anni precedenti la prima guerra mondiale, ma la sua formazione richiese un tempo insolitamente lungo. Il monumento in onore della vittoria dell’esercito serbo nelle guerre balcaniche fu originariamente concepito come una fontana, che doveva essere collocata nel centro di Belgrado, su Terazije. L’incarico fu affidato a uno dei più importanti artisti dell’inizio del XX secolo, lo scultore Ivan Mestrovic. All'inizio della prima guerra mondiale, aveva fuso la parte centrale della fontana sotto forma di una figura maschile nuda che teneva una spada nella mano destra (simbolo di guerra) e un falco nella mano sinistra (simbolo di pace) - il Victor.

The guide is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The tour covers many points of interest in central Belgrade that you can revisit to explore in more detail if you have time. Highly recommended.
Aleksander was a great guide. He showed me all the interesting stuff, and noticed immediately what i was interested in. Coffee at the Moskva hotel was the highlight!

What an amazing walking tour of Belgrade. I learned a TON about Serbia and Belgrade specifically!! There was much history and I finished the tour with a much deeper appreciation of both Belgrade and the Serbian people in general. I highly recommend this tour!
I had the most fun and informative 3 hours with my guide Alexsander. We walked all over the city and I learned the historical significance of many buildings and statutes. We even came across procycling teams preparing for a competition and stopped to speak to a few of them. The time flew by very quickly as there was so much to see and learn. And the Turkish coffee was excellent. Belgrade is beautiful and I highly recommend Alexsander as a guide as he made the walking experience so much better with his insights and knowledge.
Aleksandr was excellent in his explanations—clear and full of insight. His love for his city and country was evident as he shared its history along with little-known facts. The tour experience was truly enjoyable, and I found it a pleasure not only to listen but also to share some facts about my own country with him. Despite the grey sky and light rain, the tour was enjoyable, thanks to his enthusiasm, knowledge, and the beauty of the city.
Excellent tour, had time to see all the main sights in a short time. I liked what Alexander said about Belgrade, taking into account the cultural specificities of each guest. Even though we were all from different countries, everyone was able to find a piece of their homeland in Serbia. This suggests that the guide has extensive knowledge beyond the route he created.
I booked a walking tour with Aleksandar last minute on Trip Advisor as I had been a little unorganized and there were not many options with availability left. Let me be clear – I am very pleased with the decision I made. The tour is genuine value for money. Aleksandar as an individual is a fascinating person to talk to. Mixing that with his knowledge of Belgrade and its history made for a genuinely entertaining and informative few hours. I had a particular interest in the recent history of Belgrade, specifically the NATO bombings. Not only has Aleksandar read and studied this part of history, but he was in the city at the time and experienced it as well. Do not hesitate when it comes to booking a tour with Aleksandar – you will not regret it. Additionally, if he recommends eating at one of his brother's 4 Smash Burger restaurants, then don’t ignore him. You will not be disappointed. Thank you, Aleksandar. I really appreciated your time and knowledge.
Aleksandar is a nice guy, but the tour was less historical and more political. He offered to take us anywhere we wanted and I said I'd like to stick to the itinerary listed, he did not . Very disappointing, we had to excuse ourselves from the tour.
I had the best time being shown around by Aleksander. The man knows everything and speaks with objectivity and passion about the history and culture of his region. It was pretty humbling to see and made me realise how relatively little I know about the history of my own region because, during my life, we have lived through a period of peace, democracy and progress (this is all relative, of course). I would highly recommend going on this tour. You won’t regret it!
