I had an excellent walking tour of Belgrade with Aleksander Nole. He is incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the history of his city. What I appreciated most was that he didn't sugarcoat Serbia's past. He presented the complex history of Yugoslavia and the communist era in an honest, balanced, and thoughtful way, giving context without avoiding the difficult topics. It made the tour much more meaningful than a typical sightseeing experience. One of the most powerful parts of the tour was visiting the grounds of the former Sajmište concentration camp, where thousands of Jews and other victims were imprisoned and murdered during World War II. Aleksander explained the history with respect and sensitivity, making it one of the most memorable and moving parts of the day. If you're looking for more than just a tour of landmarks and want to truly understand Belgrade's history—both its proud moments and its tragedies—I highly recommend taking a tour with Aleksander Nole. It was one of the best guided tours I've experienced anywhere in the world.
Aleksander is an excellent guide full of knowledge, passion, and energy. With his educational background in economics and international relations, his reflections are particularly insightful. He enjoys answering questions and engaging with everyone in a lively way.
We have an in depth walking tour with Aleksander covering the history of Yugoslavia and Serbia. We did enjoy the tour and gained insights on the history of the country
Not only was the tour itself amazing, but Alexander’s passion and knowledge is what made it stand out from the other tours that I’ve been on. There were some complications with the tour originally due to spontaneous protests in thr city, but nonetheless Alexander made an effort to adapt and overcome, resulting in a great tour of the city, covering the regions rich history and architecture. Couldn’t recommend enough for anyone like myself who loves history. 10/10 experience
I purchased this tour for my 17-year-old daughter, and it was an absolutely perfect experience. Aleksandar was an outstanding guide, and everything was organized flawlessly from start to finish. My daugther told me it was one of the most interesting tours she has ever taken and that she learned a great deal. It is not always easy to impress a teenager—especially one who has traveled extensively and has very particular interests—but this tour was a complete success. For someone who is not easily impressed, it was truly a standout experience. She said it was one of the highlights of her visit to Belgrade.
I enjoyed the tour and I really liked to discover this historical side of the city since I would have never guessed it on my own and many guides don’t cover such topics.
He is very friendly, energetic and he knows about politics and history, perfect for the job. Thanks Aleksandar!
Definitely recommend this tour in Belgrade! I've done walking tours in a lot cities, so have a high bar. Our guide Aleksandar was super interesting and made the history and politics of Yugoslavia really easy to understand. He also shared nice recommendations for Belgrade after the tour.
Aleksandar was so informative and passionate about his subject. His enthusiasm for the history really made the tour interesting and helped us understand the very complex history of Serbia. He was very informed not just about Serbia but was knowledgable about politics around the world. We also added on a tour of the communist museum and it was extremely helpful to have Aleksandar as a guide around this otherwise I think it would have been quite difficult to understand what we were looking at! I would highly recommend this tour.
My wife and I absolutely loved this tour! The guide was dynamic, engaging, and did an excellent job of keeping everyone involved and participating throughout the entire experience. He answered every question with passion and made the tour both informative and entertaining. What we enjoyed the most was his extensive knowledge of the history of Belgrade and the wider region. He shared plenty of fascinating facts, historical context, and funny anecdotes that really brought the city to life. The time flew by, which is always a sign of a great tour. If you're visiting Belgrade and want to gain a broader understanding of the city beyond just Stari Beograd, this tour is absolutely perfect. It provides a much more complete perspective on Belgrade, its history, and its different neighborhoods. 100% recommended. This tour is a must! Signed... Žužu :)
