David was great! We learned so much about the history of the area and had a great lunch and tequila tasting after our ATV ride.
We booked through Cozumel ATV Tour on the Viator app. Pros: 1. The ATV ride through the Mayan village was fun, almost 1 hour to and from the Jade Cenote. 2. Sky Reef had amazing snorkeling with colorful fish, 1 yellow black and white sting ray. 3. The restaurant where we had the delicious fish and chicken tacos. It's located directly on the beach Sky Reef location. Good that the food is included in the package because otherwise they charge $20 for 3 tacos!! 4. Our guide, David, was friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the Cozumel reefs and snorkeling. Cons: 1. Do NOT go in the Jade Cavern cenote. The water is stagnant; thats why it's green and there are bats and bat poop. I wish we didn’t go in and will need to monitor for any symptoms over the next 3 weeks. 2. While the ATV ride was definitely the fun highlight and we felt safe, however they needed to provide more training of using the actual vehicles, and there were 12 of us in the group, so they should have had a staff member in the back keeping track of the slower riders. 3. Our guide, David, was rough and frustrated at times during the ATV ride when people didn't follow his instructions, riding back and forth to the front and back.
Hola! This is César. Thank you for taking the time to share your review and for highlighting the aspects of the tour you enjoyed, from the ATV ride through the Mayan village to the snorkeling and food at Sky Reef. We truly appreciate your feedback, as safety and guest satisfaction are our highest priorities. I would like to address your concerns directly to ensure you and future guests have complete peace of mind: Jade Cavern & Water Quality: Please rest assured that you do not need to worry about bat droppings or health risks. The bats inhabiting the cave are fruit-eating bats (frugivores), and they do not leave waste inside the cave area where our guests swim. Over the more than 20 years that this cenote has been open to the public, hundreds of thousands of visitors have enjoyed swimming in Jade Cavern without a single health issue reported. Group Safety & Rear Guide: Safety on our ATV trails is something we take very seriously. For all group excursions, we always assign a dedicated sweep guide at the very back of the group to monitor pace and ensure every rider remains safe and accounted for. Guide Communication: The reason David was riding back and forth was specifically to maintain communication with our rear guide and verify that all 12 riders were safe, following instructions, and comfortable. While David's primary focus is keeping every guest safe on the trail, we apologize if his vigilance came across as abrupt at any point. We appreciate your valuable feedback, as it helps us continually refine our guest experience. Thank you again for choosing us for your adventure in Cozumel, and we hope to welcome you back in the future!
Would highly recommend this tour. Very professional team and our guide Sergio was excellent.
Alonso made the trip much more fun, I recommend it! The best ones in Cozumel
Process was easy from start to finish and communication was 20/10! I felt safe and informed the entire time. Our tour guide Angel (Alonso) lived up to his name! He was an absolute angel, super respectful and knowledgeable. Along the journey, were able to go to a true Mayan village with the most WONDERFUL, kind, sweet, and humble people you would meet! DO NOT SKIP the tequila tasting, make sure pick up a bottle or 2. The cenote experience is truly a once in a lifetime experience, the snorkeling experience was truly a fantastic ending to the day! Don't skip the the back massage offered at the beach, its worth it! I can't forget our initial driver David that was so kind and made the ride enjoyable with his jokes while telling us more of the island's history. Most importantly, they made it a point to ensure we returned to our terminal at least an hour before our scheduled time. I have zero recommendation on how to make this better, 10 out 10!! PS remember to tip all the locals and tour guides as they work so hard simply to make our day memorable
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the friendliest staff who made us feel excited for the adventure ahead. Our tour guide, Alonso Angel the “Chocolate Guy,” was absolutely phenomenal! He had us laughing the entire day, but what really stood out was his passion for sharing the history and culture of the Mayan people. He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely cared that every single person had the best experience possible. You could tell he loves what he does, and it made all the difference. Every stop was better than the last! We loved exploring the Mayan Village and learning about the traditions and history. The tequila tasting was so much fun, and the ATV ride was an absolute adrenaline rush! One of the most unforgettable moments was jumping into the breathtaking Jade Cavern—it was absolutely stunning and something we’ll be talking about for years. After all the excitement, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Sky Reef before snorkeling in the beautiful crystal-clear water surrounded by colorful fish. It was the perfect way to end an already amazing day. The photographer also did an incredible job capturing priceless memories that our family will cherish forever. This excursion has everything—adventure, culture, incredible scenery, delicious food, and a team that truly goes above and beyond to make your day special. If you’re visiting Cozumel, do yourself a favor and book this tour. You won’t regret it! Thank you to Alonso and the entire team for giving our family a day filled with laughter, adventure, and memories that will last a lifetime. We would do it all over again in a heartbeat!
