It’s really just a driver taking you to Taormina. There is an audio on the bus. The description of the tour said there was an opportunity to swim, which was really just a pretty boring boat ride that cost extra. The description also said lunch was included, but it was not. At one point, the bus A/C stopped working for about 15 minutes, and it was really, really hot. The driver was late arriving to the meet spots. The towns were gorgeous but find a different way to explore them!

Disappointed This tour has the potential to be so much more or perhaps we was just unfortunate with our guide. I am a travel agent from the UK and I don’t like to leave negative reviews if I can help it but sadly on my tour of Italy and doing a number of tours this experience was the least enjoyable. Our guide advised us his name was Pino ( not sure If it’s true) and his English was very limited. Although advertised as an English tour it was just the radio equipment in the bus seats. If our guide was able to communicate more efficiently I think this could have been more enjoyable. The itinerary was Taormina, isola bella, Castelmola. We wasn’t really advised at the time but did isola Bella first which was annoying as I left my bag with swim shoes on the bus and he drove away. Taormina was a 2 hour stop but it did feel not long enough we couldn’t reach the ruins in that time. The tour wasn’t advertised with a guide and that was fine but our driver didn’t give any recommendations. The last part of the tour is what had ruined the experience and upset me as I had to apologise to my group ; Castelmola - the driver asked us to follow him and asked if we liked wine in Italian the whole group confirmed once realised what he said and we all assumed this was included although not mentioned so were happily surprised. Now it wasn’t bar Vitelli that was mentioned on the tour and we walked to a bar that had a great panoramic view, we received almond wine (thankfully no young children on the tour as the drinks came in a rude shaped shot glasses and all the decor in the building and toilets) As it’s time to leave we were told we had to pay, we were a group of 4 but were not the only ones confused by this. Especially as next door to this establishment was a bar that offered the same drink for free as a tasting!!! I translated to Pino that everyone assumed it was free and he laughed and said in Italian - nothing is free (I can understand language) so I pointed to the shop that said free tastings and he just shrugged his shoulders. I hope the travel company look into this and take necessary action. I would not recommend this company or experience to any client. Date - 18th June 2026

Driver spoke no English. There was no guide accompanying the tour . She stopped. Did not attempt to tell us anything about the stop and what to do there. No highlights or anything. Just told us the time we had. That’s it. I have done many tours with Viator and TripAdvisor. This would rate as one of the worst. Over 100 euros per person, it would have been better to higher a private car and do it one one’s own than this. Extremely disappointing.

​I am writing this to warn others about the "Etna-Taormina-Castelmola" tour departing from Catania. This was, without a doubt, the worst travel experience of our lives. ​The Etna Disaster: The tour started at 10:00 AM, but we spent over 3 hours stuck in a massive traffic jam heading up Mt. Etna. During this time, we were trapped on the bus with no information provided in English, and no opportunity to use a restroom. After 3 hours, the driver simply dropped us off in the middle of the road among moving cars. We had to walk for 30 minutes to find the nearest toilet and restaurant. ​Lack of Communication: Because there was no English guidance, many passengers (including us) had no idea what was happening or where to meet. We spent our "free time" just trying to find basic facilities and never even saw the Silvestri Craters. When we finally found the bus, we sat there for another hour waiting for lost passengers who had no signal and no info. We spent half the day on the mountain with no water, no service, and zero updates. ​The "Tour" in the Dark: Despite passengers demanding to be taken back to Catania, the driver ignored us. We arrived in Taormina at 17:30, just as it was getting dark. The Amphitheatre was already closed, and Isola Bella was too far to see. By the time we reached Castelmola, it was pitch black. We were given 45 minutes to see a town and a castle that were completely unlit and dangerous to navigate in the dark. We saw absolutely nothing. ​Unacceptable Customer Service: The next day, we went to the agency to complain. Instead of an apology, the staff shouted at us and were incredibly rude. They initially offered another tour as compensation, which we refused. After a heated argument, they eventually threw 30% of our money back at us. We felt forced to accept it just to get away from their aggressive behavior. ​Summary: This tour ruined one full day of our 3-day trip to Sicily. It was disorganized, dangerous, and the staff's attitude was professional misconduct. Do not book this tour.

We have done many “tours” through Viator including several in Sicily. I felt this was not really a tour where someone explained in more detail what to look for or more explanation on points of interest. With 4 adults paying over $400 it was merely expensive transportation from Catania. The driver was very cordial, on time, and a very safe driver navigating the roads.

Excellent, very graphic and also one manages time. If you want to stop for a coffee, cut and go later

Due to the extremely wet weather today and thick fog in all places visited today the tour should have been rescheduled or a refund offered to guests. The only positive of the entire tour was the fantastic and skillful driving from the bus driver.

Excellent excursion with driver Roberto departure on schedule, I felt very safe throughout the journey and was also very friendly and very explicit when telling the whole story of the place. Unforgettable experience. I'll repeat it on my next trip.

Definitely to be redone... tour etna-taormina top!!! Hoping to find Roberto who is super friendly, drives very well and made us feel right at ease! When one finds such a good staff it's a pleasure!
