La visite part du terminal de croisière en direction de Castelmola (environ 45 minutes de route). Castelmola est un petit village au sommet de Taormina avec une vue magnifique sur l'Etna. Après environ une heure, nous nous dirigeons vers Taormina, l'une des plus belles villes d'Italie, accessible uniquement à pied et regorgeant de magasins et de restaurants. Après environ 2 ou 3 heures, nous retournons à Messine, mais pas avant une belle visite panoramique d'Isola Bella. Comme dernier arrêt, nous visiterons le sanctuaire du Christ Roi, un point panoramique sur le détroit de Messine, et la cathédrale du Duomo, où vous pourrez admirer la plus grande horloge astronomique d'Europe. L'horaire est conçu pour profiter au maximum de votre séjour en Sicile et être parfaitement à l'heure avec le bateau de croisière.

We toured with Paria (tour guide) and Alberto (driver) from “Best Sicily Excursions with Alberto.” It was outstanding! We were met promptly at the docks and they had a comfortable van for the six of us with cold water and AC. We also had some members of our group who are mobility impaired and they were very patient and helped us get into and out of the van at every stop. Paria spoke excellent English and was very fun and personable. We clicked right away. We arranged to go to Castelmola and Taormina but they were very flexible if we wanted to stop or divert to see something. Paria had a deep knowledge of the history of the area as well as the that of every place we visited. She stayed with us the entire time to ensure we did not get lost and provided background information at each site. While Messina was technically not on the tour, they brought us to the Doma and fountains and told us all the details. I would highly recommend this tour.

Oleksandra and Angelo were very good, but the shock absorbers on the van were very bad, resulting in a rough ride from Messina to Castelmola and back, making it difficult to enjoy the scenery.
We're really sorry if the road scared you a little. To get to Castelmola, a small medieval village, the road has a few curves, but we always try to drive as carefully as possible. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the day, as I could see from the photos.

We had a fantastic private tour of Taormina and Castelmola during our cruise stop in Messina. Paria was an excellent guide, friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about Sicily.
