Cette excursion d'une journée au départ de York offre l'occasion d'explorer le paysage époustouflant du parc national des Yorkshire Dales, en visitant le château de Bolton, Askrigg (lieu de tournage de Darrowby dans la série télévisée James Herriot All Creatures Great and Small), Kettlewell (lieu de tournage principal du film Calendar Girls), The Oldest Sweetshop in the World à Pateley Bridge et la ville traditionnelle de Dales Market Town de Hawes, où vous aurez l'occasion de déguster les fromages à la Wensleydale Creamery primée, la maison du fromage Wensleydale du Yorkshire. Itinéraire
Nous arrivons au monument le plus célèbre de Wensleydale, le château de Bolton datant du XIVe siècle, qui abritait autrefois Mary Queen of Scots, où vous aurez l'occasion de profiter et de photographier les magnifiques vues sur Wensleydale. Découvrez votre histoire à l'aide de votre guide, ou prenez simplement un Yorkshire Brew dans le salon de thé du château médiéval - à vous de choisir!
Nous prenons ensuite la route panoramique en direction de Hawes, en passant par Askrigg, le village fictif de Darrowby, dans la série télévisée Toutes et toutes grandes et petites de James Herriot.
Nous passons une heure et demie à Hawes, la ville marchande la plus haute d'Angleterre, où vous pourrez peut-être déjeuner et goûter aux fromages artisanaux gratuits du célèbre centre d'accueil Wensleydale Creamery, visiter le Dales Countryside Museum ou simplement explorer le boutiques pittoresques et cafés de la ville elle-même - à vous de choisir!
Nous quittons Hawes pour nous rendre au cœur du parc national des Yorkshire Dales, où nous pourrons prendre quelques photos. Nous traverserons les villages pittoresques de Dales le long de la route sinueuse de la rivière Wharfe.
Nous arrivons dans le village traditionnel de Kettlewell, dans les Dales, mondialement connu en 2003 comme lieu de tournage du film Calendar Girls. Vous pouvez explorer le village et en apprendre davantage sur la véritable histoire derrière le film, ou simplement savourer une bière ou un café avec les habitants dans l'un des pubs et cafés, à votre guise!
Nous continuons notre périple à travers la magnifique campagne du parc national, en passant par Kilnsey Crag et le village de Grassington, en traversant les collines ondulantes de Nidderdale, une région d’une beauté naturelle exceptionnelle.
Enfin, il y aura un court arrêt dans la charmante petite ville de Pateley Bridge, lauréat du Grand British High Street Competition en 2016, où vous aurez la possibilité de visiter «Le plus vieux magasin de bonbons du monde» (2014 Guinness Book des records). Nous quittons Pateley Bridge et retournons à York.

We loved both of the tours we did back to back - to the Yorkshire Dales National Park with the All Creatures Great and Small tour and then to Whitby and the North York Moors. Mark was a fabulous driver and host, very knowledgable and friendly. Would highly recommend!

The driver was easy to understand, on time, took photos, took us to absolutely beautiful scenery. By chance it was an absolutely perfectly clear day with cherry blossoms, sheep and green grass as far as you can see.

This was our 4th trip with B.O.B.Tours and yet again a great day out.Mark was his usual friendly,informative and helpful guide.His knowledge of Yorkshire is exceptional with a great ability to relate to all the passengers.Our tour didn’t have a full complement of passengers,which did not detract from the tour.Visited a number of locations,view points and a special stop at Wensleydale Creamery.All in all,one of the best tour companies we have ever used.Thank you,Mark for great day out.Hope to be back soon.Best wishes.Jim and Cath.

Mark, the tour guide was excellent in terms of his knowledge, planning and driving skills. Due to weather forecast, he made changes to the itinerary ( in sequence) and we managed to visit all the places at the right weather.
