Pour les groupes jusqu'à 4, 8 ou 15 passagers, cette excursion privée d'une journée au départ de York, juste pour votre fête, offre l'opportunité d'explorer les paysages magnifiques du parc national des Yorkshire Dales, en visitant le château de Bolton, Askrigg, Kettlewell, Pateley Bridge et le traditionnel bourg de Dales de Hawes, où vous aurez l'occasion de visiter la crèmerie primée Wensleydale, la patrie du Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese !

Itinéraire
Nous arrivons au monument le plus célèbre de Wensleydale, le château de Bolton datant du XIVe siècle, qui abritait autrefois Mary Queen of Scots, où vous aurez l'occasion de profiter et de photographier les magnifiques vues sur Wensleydale. Découvrez votre histoire à l'aide de votre guide, ou prenez simplement un Yorkshire Brew dans le salon de thé du château médiéval - à vous de choisir!
Nous prenons ensuite la route panoramique en direction de Hawes, en passant par Askrigg, le village fictif de Darrowby, dans la série télévisée Toutes et toutes grandes et petites de James Herriot.
Nous passons une heure et demie à Hawes, la ville marchande la plus haute d'Angleterre, où vous pourrez peut-être déjeuner et goûter aux fromages artisanaux gratuits du célèbre centre d'accueil Wensleydale Creamery, visiter le Dales Countryside Museum ou simplement explorer le boutiques pittoresques et cafés de la ville elle-même - à vous de choisir!
Nous quittons Hawes et nous nous rendons au cœur du parc national des Yorkshire Dales pour quelques arrêts photographiques pendant que nous traversons les villages pittoresques de Dales le long du tracé sinueux de la rivière Wharfe.
Nous arrivons dans le village traditionnel de Kettlewell, dans les Dales, mondialement connu en 2003 comme lieu de tournage du film Calendar Girls. Vous pouvez explorer le village et en apprendre davantage sur la véritable histoire derrière le film, ou simplement savourer une bière ou un café avec les locaux dans l'un des pubs et cafés, à votre guise!
Nous continuons notre périple à travers la magnifique campagne du parc national, en passant par Kilnsey Crag et le village de Grassington, puis en traversant les collines ondulantes de Nidderdale, une région d’une beauté naturelle exceptionnelle.
Enfin, il y aura un court arrêt dans la charmante petite ville de Pateley Bridge, lauréat du Grand Concours britannique de la grande rue en 2016, où vous aurez la possibilité de visiter «Le plus vieux magasin de bonbons du monde» (2014 Guinness Book des records). Nous quittons Pateley Bridge et retournons à York.

We had a wonderful private Yorkshire Dales tour with Best of Britain and our guide, Martin. Our group of six ranged in age from 19 to 85, and Martin did an excellent job making the day enjoyable and comfortable for everyone. He picked us up and dropped us off directly at our house, which made everything incredibly easy and stress-free. Throughout the day he was very accommodating about comfort breaks for the more seasoned members of our group, and never made us feel rushed. We visited so many beautiful places including Bolton Castle, Aysgarth Falls, Masham, Hawes, Grassington, Wensleydale Creamery, and several filming locations from All Creatures Great and Small, including the church where James and Helen were married. Martin was very knowledgeable about the area and pointed out interesting scenery, landmarks, and local details that we never would have noticed on our own as UK transplants. He also happily pulled over whenever we wanted photos, which we really appreciated. Martin was kind, professional, and clearly cared about making sure we had a good experience. He even provided water bottles for the group, which was such a thoughtful touch. You could tell he genuinely enjoys sharing Yorkshire with visitors. This was a lovely way to see the Dales without the stress of driving ourselves, and I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone wanting a relaxed, scenic, and personalized day exploring the area.

We had a fantastic day out. Chris our driver was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. He was very friendly and quickly worked out what things we would like to see. The Dales were stunning. Bolton Castle was decorated for Halloween. So many things to see. Cheese tasting in the Wensleydale creamery. Lunch there was 1st class. Minibus was clean and comfortable. I couldn't fault anything. Big thank you to Chris as he made our day great. I would definitely book a tour again.

The Coit try side was beautiful beyond my expectations. And, we learned much more about the places we drove through and stop to visit because our guide was so knowledgeable of the history, geography and current lifestyle of the area and engaging

Howard was a wonderful guide through the dales, where he was brought up. He neither explained too much nor too little, which is a rare capacity in a guide. He navigated all the narrow roads (lanes?) with skill and was ready to stop whenever we wanted pix. The villages are charming, including those where both versions of "All Creatures Great and Small" were filmed, but the real star of the tour is the gorgeous countryside.
