I had a lovely polite driver. He made the drive and the visits both timely relaxing and informative Both were well worth doing.

Enjoyable half day or 5 hours with my guide ‘shout out to Kg’ whose general knowledge of South Africa in general was impressive. The Cave walk is the highlight followed closely by the drive and surroundings. Museum is also a must Maropeng for young aspiring biological anthropologists. Great way to experience history through hands on interactions. Go do it.
Thank you for your wonderful review, we truly appreciate your kind words. We're also delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time with KG, who is indeed an outstanding member of our guiding team. Her expertise and dedication are qualities we greatly value, and we will be sure to pass along your compliments to her. We look forward to welcoming you on another tour in the future.
This is not as advertised. It is not a private or personal tour and guests are rushed through the museum to meet the schedule.
Thank you for your valuable feedback. We wish to clarify that the Cradle of Humankind tour is offered as a shared experience, and as such, group sizes are determined by overall booking volumes and are not within our operational control. Nevertheless, we take all guest comments seriously and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Your input is instrumental in helping us refine our service delivery and enhance the overall guest experience. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future.
Our guide, Pastor, was great. He picked us up on time, was a good driver and was very knowledgeable about the sites we were going to, as well as the history of South Africa. In addition, he was really interesting to talk with about the recent past and current affairs here. He made the ride to our destination fly by. The visitor center was really good. The exhibits and messaging was spot on, though a couple of exhibits could use some maintenance. The information regarding the archaeological site and fossils was well presented. Likewise, the exhibit at the caves was well done and our guide was very good. However, the caves themselves, though large and scientifically significant, are not that impressive if you’ve been to other cave systems. And the tour group that we visited the cave with was far too large. It was quite crowded when in the cave. This is the only reason I gave 4 stars. Pastor and Swang’s Safari were excellent.
Thank you for your gracious and encouraging review. We are truly humbled by your kind words and deeply appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. We also acknowledge your valuable observation regarding the high volume of visitors during public holidays. While we strive to provide an intimate and enriching experience for all our guests, the increased foot traffic during these peak periods can at times lead to overcrowded tours. Please accept our sincere apologies for any discomfort this may have caused. Rest assured, we are continually reviewing our operational procedures to better manage crowd flow and enhance the overall guest experience, especially during busy seasons. Your feedback is immensely helpful, and we are grateful for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to the privilege of welcoming you again in the future.
Our guide Katalejo was always attentive and we had a good conversation about the country

The trip was excellent. The caves tour and Maropeng museum had so much history connected to Johannesburg. Had a great conversation with our guide and he shared so much about South Africa.

I went on a tour of the Cradle of Humankind and Sterkfontein Caves near Johannesburg with Swangs Safaris. My guide for the day was Katlego. Katlego picked me up perfectly on time at my hotel. Swangs Safari kept me informed where was supposed to come snd when he had reached the hotel pickup point. Katlego is a very polite, smart, young man with the innate skill to connect with people. I wish him all the success in his career. The drive to the Sterkfontein Caves was about an hour but Katlego explained the different neighborhoods and regions we were passing through. The caves were exciting and we learned a lot about the prehistoric site and the fossil digs. Then we went to the Cradle of Humankind museum. It was also very informative. I was not a huge fan of the little boat ride inside. I had a wonderful day and highly recommend Swangs Safaris and my guide, Katlego.
