We had a great experience with Themba as our guide for the day on this difficult but very important tour. Themba was incredibly knowledgeable, flexible and responsive. The fact that he is a Soweto native also really helped. Themba knows his way around and has first hand knowledge of the Soweto culture. The tour is emotionally difficult, but incredibly important to experience. I will say we ran out of time at the apartheid museum and had to return to finish, but that was largely because we were so interested in the things Themba showed us.

This whole day tour of Jo’burg was amazing and super-informative. Our guide brought the city and its history to life. We were really touched by our visits to Constitution Hill and Soweto. The 3ish hours after lunch at the Apartheid Museum were very well spent (and enough for a single visit), but we could have spent a lot more time here. We completely recommend this trip.

Great tour! My guide, Katlejo, was amazing: professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the city. I discovered many different sides of the Johannesburg and its surroundings, while hearing lots of interesting stories and anecdotes about local history and everyday life. Katlejo was also able to adapt the tour to my interests, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Great informative day in Johannesburg! KG was an amazing tour guide with a great deal of interesting and detailed information. I would recommend the private tour as you can tour at your own pace. KG was on time, flexible, personable and just overall allowed us to have a great day. The history of Joburg is interesting, sad and quite heavy but it must be something you experience first hand while visiting South Africa.
