This was such a neat activity. It was a great way to start our trip with the chocolate making informational tour and hands-on experience. KahKow was such a nice and clean place with friendly staff.
Fun, brief experience with a chocolate making experience at the end. The gift store has a lot of food and beverage options for people with a sweet tooth.
This was very educational and fun. We loved getting to make our own chocolate bars & choose the toppings. Definitely recommend!!
Great multimedia explanation about the history of chocolate and the production process of chocolate production. Highly recommended. Very entertaining. At the end chocolate tasting of the various products. Great chocolate!! (and may I say so as a Swiss;-) )
This was a really fun movie and experience. We went on a Monday and it was very quiet and not rushed. We enjoyed the movie, explanation of the chocolate making process, making our own chocolate bars, eating some chocolate treats, and shopping in the gift shop. This was a very nice respite from the hot and crowded streets. A great educational experience and a nice was to spend an hour or two.
This was a great start to our holiday, we visited to see how the Chocolate from the island was being made. It’s a great educational experience for couples and families and you also get to make your own chocolate bar to take home amongst trying all the different strengths of chocolate bars they produce. The quality of the chocolate is high, top class, no palm oil or refined sugars added and you can really taste it! The trip is good value for money, it’s a walk through experience with educational videos on the history of chocolate globally and locally. The staff speak brilliant English and explain every aspect of the chocolate production process. There’s a cafe on site selling fresh coffee and local teas, plus ice creams and of course all there fabulous chocolate bars. Definitely worth a visit and good value for money to kill a couple of hours.
Had so much fun. Learnt a lot. Loved my chocolate bar too. That was fun. Try it and thank me later..
I did the tour in December 2025, It is the best Cocoa that is tested, in the products of the store I did not have the same experience.
I visited Kahkow Experience in the Colonial Zone with my cousin, who lives abroad, and we had a great time. Making our own soap bars and chocolate was a fun, hands-on experience and a really nice way to learn more about Dominican cacao. The activity is interactive, entertaining, and well organized, making it perfect to do with friends, family, or visitors from outside the country. It’s both educational and enjoyable, and we truly had a lovely time. I would definitely recommend it as a different and memorable activity in the Colonial Zone.
The experience is unforgettable and its staff is very prepared, package we bought included lunch was not bad although I was surprised that being Creole food they offered chicken in Alfredo sauce (white sauce) Cacao is one of the best in the world without a doubt,
