It was a great experience and enjoyable tour guide with lots of information about the area and the homes.
This tour had the potential to be interesting however the guide was not up to the task. Too much time was spent discussing unrelated matters. His personal relationships, European travel, high school adventures, and family dynamics became the focus of much of the narrative. He admitted he spent so much time talking we had to miss some points of interest while rushing to the finish. Overall it was a nice day for a walk in a pretty neighborhood that became tedious because of guide.
Have been on Garden District tours before. Dom was incredibly knowlegeble and kept an easy pace. Was a bit more academic vs. storytelling.
We’re thrilled Dom took such great care of you and shared his incredible wealth of knowledge.we like our Garden District history accurate, deeply researched, and authentic! We’re glad Dom delivered exactly that, and we appreciate you touring with us!
Great garden tour with Barbara. Very informative and fun.
Your review means the world—thank you for joining us and for the amazing rating!
Tour was good covering the area. Guide talk was very knowledgeable but talked a lot about his personal and family history in NOLA. Interesting but not why we booked the tour
Cannot say enough! Excellent tour, excellent guide (Dane) on top of a beautiful day. Small group is the only way to go. Dante was entertaining, knowledgeable, fun- great stories and interesting history. 5+ stars!
We are thrilled to hear you had a wonderful tour with dane during the tour! Your positive review means a lot to us, and we sincerely appreciate you taking the time to share it with us.
Great mix of history and current events, Barbara was really engaging!
🕰️ We’re so glad she could bridge the gap between 'the old days' and what’s happening in NOLA right now. We’ll be sure to tell her she’s 'really engaging'
Informative and relaxed tour with Barbara was wonderful!
That is so wonderful to hear! Barbara takes a lot of pride in making sure her tours are relevant and lively by connecting historical facts to the city we see today.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re going to walk the Garden District, do it with Barbara — she’s basically a historian, storyteller, and referee for bad dad jokes all in one. The tour was packed with gorgeous homes, fascinating stories, and trivia questions where the only prize was Mardi Gras beads (which I may or may not now consider high-value currency). Barbara somehow managed to educate us, keep the group moving, and politely tolerate every pun I threw out like it was open-mic night. True professional. Great pace, great stories, great laughs — and I left smarter, sweatier, and slightly more bedazzled. Highly recommend — especially if you enjoy history with a side of humor and beads. 🎭
We’ll be sure to tell Barbara she officially earned her stripes as the ‘Bad Dad Joke Referee!’ It takes a true pro to handle an open-mic night while sharing the history of the Garden District. We’re glad those Mardi Gras beads are being treated with the respect they deserve—as the official currency of the Crescent City. Thanks for bringing the laughs and for the 5-star recommendation!
Very informative. Excellent host and guide. Stopped at a great deli for drinks and a snack. Highly recommend
