This was an exceptional experience. We came in with very little knowledge on both New Orleans history and the origins of Voodoo. We gained so much information and it has left us wanting to take an even deeper dive into both!!
Today we experienced the Voodoo Queen Tour in New Orleans, and our tour guide, Gomez, was truly exceptional. He is, without question, the best tour guide I have ever had on any tour. His knowledge of New Orleans history, Marie Laveau, the stories of enslaved people, and so much more was remarkable. Every stop on the tour was enriched by his detailed narration and deep understanding of the city’s past. One of my favorite moments was standing in Congo Square. I had studied this place before, but hearing Gomez explain its history brought everything to life in a way that was powerful, moving, and unforgettable. He shared everything I learned in school—and even more. His storytelling is captivating, respectful, and full of passion. To end the tour, we formed a line band and marched, danced, clapped, and followed one another while Gomez sang. It was joyful, energetic, and so much fun—and yes, he has a wonderful voice too. If you are visiting New Orleans, take this tour and request Gomez. He deserves 10 stars. When I return to N.O., I will absolutely take this tour again and request him—and only him. Gomez, thank you for teaching us so much today. We truly loved you and everything you shared. You made this experience unforgettable.

DJ was great, not only was he extremely friendly but he was very knowledgeable. My 1st visit to Nola and I have been trying to have as many interesting tours and experiences as I can. I am glad he was a part of it. If we makee another trip.we will happily book another one of his tours.
we were so lucky when we got Gomez as our guide. Soooo informative, passion for the New Orleans history, accommodating and pleasant. Best tour we have been on and we have been on many all over the world! Thanks Gomez!
Gomez gave a lovely depiction of New Orleans history and culture which is exactly why I booked this tour :) five stars!!
The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of New Orleans, in general. The tour went on far longer than the stated 2 hours, I think it exceeded 3, but even though there were 3 or 4 of us that have bad backs and trouble walking (1 lady was using a cane), we all stayed with our guide the entire time. He talked about New Orleans history, took us to a church because Catholicism has always been a huge influence in the city, took us to a cemetery, the Louis Armstrong park, as well as Marie Laveau's house (rebuilt after it burned down). He told us about how voodoo was brought here and how it came about and that it isn't about evil and curses. It was a very interesting tour.
Orion gave a fascinating and funny and thoughtful to her of a part of New Orleans that allowed us to understand the voodoo culture. He was eloquent, so interesting, and we absolutely love the experience
This was a very informative and interesting tour exploring the history of New Orleans, slavery and the Voodoo religion and culture. Orion was an excellent guide providing a detailed history as well as some great recommendations around the city. We learned a lot! He was friendly and entertaining, integrating some movie references for all ages. He also indicated some possible bathroom stops along the tour, which was very helpful with kids.
Funny, and the right start to get an introduction to New Orleans - or as our tour guide said, the most northern Caribbean Ciity.
