Salvi, Hans, Ronaldo were amazing. We did the 2day Machu Picchu trip through the Sun Gate. Transport, ticketing, and hiking were seamless and worry free. They have the itinerary down to a science. They handled our group of 11 - with varying levels of hiking experience - very well, making sure all were comfortable and having a good time. Picture, facts, laughs… a wonderful time we’ll cherish forever.
Fantastic experience from start to finish. Sabino and his team were all so friendly, knowledgeable and funny! The food was exceptional and everything was so well organised. Hotel in Aguas Calientes was lovely. When you consider everything included it really is exceptional value for money. Cannot recommend enough!!
We did the 2 day/1 night Inca Trail. Our two guides were absolutely amazing. Lucio led the hike and gave great information about Machu Picchu and the Incas. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and a lot of fun. He coordinated everything from pick ups to drop offs, bus tickets, train tickets, and entrance tickets. It made everything super easy. I struggled with altitude sickness during the hiking and wasn’t sure if I was going to make it. Our second guide, Yanelit, went above and beyond to help me. She ended up carrying my daypack and letting me use her hiking poles, which I have never needed before. She was patient and encouraging as I slowly made the trek. She is an amazing human! Even with the struggles, see Machu Picchu at the Sun Gate was totally worth it and amazing. The second day, we went to Machu Picchu to watch the sunrise and tour the ruins. It was fantastic! I highly recommend Lucio and Yanelit if you do this excursion!
As background, I am 73 years old and was hiking with my wife and daughter who are experienced hikers. Our guide, Nilton, monitored the entire group, which included hikers of different levels of experience and different altitude capacities. All the hikers had a fun time and Nilton with his assistant, Vanessa, made this an experience to remember with great details of history, geography, topography, etc. I felt our family was safe with these guides who took care to advise us of what to avoid as well as safety measures
We had an incredibly well-organized experience with Alpaca Expeditions from start to finish! Our guide, Celio, was outstanding—supportive, encouraging, and hilarious. From the very beginning, he kept our kids (ages 13 and 18) engaged and motivated, even through some of the more challenging sections of the trek. The freshly prepared lunch was absolutely delicious and one of the highlights of the day. Celio also took amazing photos for our family, so we have wonderful memories to look back on. The overnight hotel accommodations were excellent, and the Vistadome train ride back was such a fun and memorable way to end the trip. If you’re considering this trek, I highly recommend Alpaca Expeditions—and if you can, ask for Celio as your guide. He truly made the experience unforgettable!
Nilton was an amazing tour guide. He spoke both English and Spanish very well and was accommodating of our very diverse group of 14 people from different ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. He was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the trail and Machu Picchu, including its history and areas to be careful of when hiking. He was able to create an environment where complete strangers became a close knit group within just a few hours and you can tell he truly enjoys and cares about his job. One of the best tour experiences I've ever had!
Sabi was so knowledgeable, caring and patient... I am humbled and beyond grateful... I had such a wonderful experience... Gracias Sabi por tan lindos recuerdos
One of the best experiences I have had. Sabino is one of the best guides and has a very pleasant personality.
Amazing experience. Sabi was a great guide and made sure our group was well taken care. He also made sure we beat all the crowds and knew the right times to do everything.
What an incredible experience! Sabi truly made the entire trip. He knows everyone and everything and I will miss his unique laugh. The lunch on the hiking day was, dare I say, extravagant, and the sunrise experience in Mach picchu was key in having a successful trip.
