2-Day Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu by Train Tour was truly one of the most incredible travel experiences I’ve ever had! From start to finish, everything was well organized, seamless, and exceeded my expectations. I would like to extend a huge thank you to the entire team for their professionalism, kindness, and dedication. Everyone worked hard to make sure our trip was smooth and enjoyable. A special thank you goes to Rayza, our travel agent. She was incredibly friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout the entire process. She made everything so easy and stress-free, and her attention to detail gave us complete confidence that we were in good hands. The highlight of the trip was our guide at Machu Picchu, Martin. I travel quite a lot, and I can honestly say that Martin is one of the best tour guides I have ever had anywhere in the world. His knowledge of the history, culture, and significance of Machu Picchu was outstanding, and he shared it in a way that was engaging and easy to understand. What truly set Martin apart was how much he cared about our experience. He was patient, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable visit. As an added bonus, he is an exceptional photographer! He took some absolutely stunning photos of our family that look like they were taken by a professional photographer. Those photos will be cherished memories for years to come. If you are considering this tour, I highly recommend it. And if possible, specifically request Martin as your guide—you will be incredibly lucky to have him. Thank you again to Rayza, Martin, and the entire team for making this journey through the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu such a memorable and wonderful experience!
This two-day Machu Picchu tour was genuinely one of the great travel experiences of our lives and exceeded already very high expectations. Before even arriving in Peru, I want to particularly recognise the logistics team at Fly Cusco, who were outstanding. Communication in the weeks leading up to the trip was excellent and gave us real confidence that everything was under control. Our main contact, Rayza, was especially helpful — responsive, organised and proactive. She ensured every detail was clear and made what could have been a complicated multi-stage journey feel effortless. That level of preparation made a huge difference and allowed us to simply enjoy the experience. Day one through the Sacred Valley was excellent. Our guide, Alexis, was knowledgeable, engaging and clearly passionate about Incan history and culture. He struck exactly the right balance between detailed explanation and giving us space to absorb the landscape ourselves. The visits to Chinchero, Maras, Moray and Ollantaytambo gave us a real appreciation of just how sophisticated the Incan civilisation was, particularly in agriculture, engineering and social organisation. The buffet lunch in the Sacred Valley was also excellent and a welcome pause during a full but very well-paced day. The experience then moved to another level when we boarded the Observatory Train to Aguas Calientes. This was far more than simple transport — it felt like part of the adventure itself. The staff created a brilliant atmosphere with music, gifts and Incan-style celebrations, which added real fun and character to the journey. And then there was the scenery. Following the Urubamba River, the train journey was absolutely spectacular — dramatic mountains, cloud forest, jungle vegetation and glimpses of local life. Watching the landscape gradually transform from valley to jungle made you appreciate just how extraordinary Machu Picchu’s location really is. Our overnight stay in Aguas Calientes was comfortable and well organised, building anticipation perfectly for the main event. Day two was made truly special by our guide, Walter. Walter was exceptional — warm, knowledgeable, passionate and clearly deeply connected to the history and significance of Machu Picchu. He brought the site to life in a way that went far beyond facts and dates. His storytelling and insight helped us understand not only the astonishing engineering of Machu Picchu, but also its spiritual and cultural significance. Then came that first sight of Machu Picchu. No photograph prepares you for it. It is every bit as spectacular, mysterious and awe-inspiring as people say. Standing there, surrounded by cloud-covered peaks, you cannot help but feel humbled by the scale of the achievement and the ingenuity of the civilisation that built it. After exploring the site and taking in one of the most remarkable places on earth, we travelled back down to Aguas Calientes before riding back to Ollantaytambo for the return leg — tired, inspired, and already reflecting on what had been an extraordinary experience. The logistics throughout — transfers, tickets, transport, timings and communication — were seamless from start to finish. This tour offered exceptional value for money and created memories we will carry for life. Special thanks to Rayza, Alexis, and Walter, along with the wider Fly Cusco team, for turning an amazing trip into something genuinely unforgettable.

Highly recommended! I chose this tour because the itinerary included all the places I wanted to see, and it delivered exactly as I had imagined. The logistics were excellent from start to finish. The team contacted me shortly after booking and again before the trip to make sure I understood all the details. Every pickup and drop-off was seamless - the drivers always had clear signs with our names and were easy to find. A special thank you to both of our guides, who were both named Carlos, especially Carlos Sifuentes Sullcaccori. They were incredibly knowledgeable, patient, flexible, and genuinely passionate about sharing the history and culture of the region. In Aguas Calientes, Carlos A. met us at our hotel the evening before our Machu Picchu visit, even though it was already late. He took the time to listen to our concerns, answer our questions, and clearly explain the plan for the next day, which gave us a lot of confidence and peace of mind. Both guides went above and beyond throughout the trip. They were not only outstanding guides but also talented photographers who knew exactly where to capture the best shots. Thanks to them, I came home with some truly amazing photos and memories.
I am very pleased to write this review because this tour was incredible. The logistics were seamless. The entire experience—from the hotel and transport to the guides Ronald and Victor—was exceptional. They were friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. They knew the best spots at every site, and the tour was never rushed. The food stop was a wonderful surprise at an amazing restaurant, everything was so good. Machu Picchu was a dream. My group couldn’t have asked for more.
One thing that I really liked about this company was that they communicated well and the tour hit exactly places that I wanted to see. The first day we toured multiple sites in the Sacred Valley and had the correct amount of time at each site. The train ride was gorgeous. We were met by our next guide at the train station and take to our hotel. The hotel was good. The next morning we were with the very first bus up to Macchu Picchu and it was stunning. The guided tour was excellent. The travel all the way back to our hotel in Cusco was done flawlessly.
It wasn’t as hard going as I thought it would be. All done a gentle pace. Just remember Water Har Sun lotion Go to the loo at the start as no toilets along the way.
This tour is super organized, everything, all transport connections are seamlessly executed. I felt safe all the time. I had excellent guides as well as tour staff between transport modes accompanying me. Hotel was great, amazing places, amazing guides.
I want to start out the review by saying every single guide that we had was absolutely amazing. They were all very knowledgeable, very kind, and I couldn't have asked for more. The problem I had with the tour was first there was no one at the train station to meet us in Aguas Calientes. After about 20 minutes of trying to contract the tour company they answered via phone, they never answered the chat on Viator, someone from the hotel showed up. We were not told which hotel we were going to so we could not just walk there on our own. Once we got to the hotel, Hotel Pucara Machu Picchu, we were supposed to have three rooms as per our reservation and they only gave us two. One of the rooms was for a family of four and had three twin beds in it. On the train ride back, our seats were assigned and our group was split up. They assigned a 2-year-old to sit several tables away from any family member with all strangers and the 5-year-old to sit at a table by themselves with strangers. We paid for the upgraded train and hotel to avoid situations like this. If I was to do this again I would book the tours with them but I would book the train in hotels on my own. We definitely didn't get our money's worth the hotel or train ride.
Dear Cameron, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the service provided by our guides and that you highlighted their knowledge, kindness, and professionalism. Comments like yours are a great recognition of our team's efforts. At the same time, we sincerely regret the inconveniences you experienced during your trip. We would like to clarify a few aspects of your review to provide additional context. Upon your arrival in Aguas Calientes, our guide was waiting for you at the train station exit, as was explained several times during the briefing provided by your guide in the Sacred Valley. We understand that arrivals can sometimes be confusing due to the large number of passengers and visitors arriving at the same time. Regarding the room arrangements, these were coordinated and confirmed in advance with the lead traveler on the reservation. As part of our standard procedure, we contact our guests after receiving the booking to verify accommodation details, and the room allocation provided was based on the information that was requested and confirmed. As for the train seating, seats are assigned directly by the train company according to their availability and operational procedures. However, we completely understand your concern, especially when traveling with young children, and we agree that families should be seated together whenever possible. We sincerely appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving our processes and coordination with our service providers. We also thank you for your kind words about our guides, who work hard every day to create memorable experiences for our visitors. Kind regards, Fly Cusco Peru Team
It has been an amazing experience overall. Shout out to our tour guide Carlos A. Sifuentes Sullcaccori, he made our Machu Picchu experience so magical with his fascinating storytelling, friendly and warm approach, positive mindset and wide range of knowledge. He definitely went above and beyond to help our dream come true and spent few extra hours with us. Shout out to our tour guide Victor in Sacred Valley as well. A very caring, knowledgeable and genuine person, always made sure we are looked after. Last to Rayza for helping organise and book this trip. 100% recommend!!
