The Salkantay trek was beautiful and it was a great experience to go with Trexperience, they were really helpful in any way. Thank you so much to Anthony, Eufemio and Eliseo for these days.
Very nice and challenging trekking. Everything was perfectly organized by Anthony. Eufemio and Eliseo provided very good food along the way. Highly recommended.
The trek to Machu Picchu was amazing! Our guide, Alex, explained everything to us step by step so we always knew what we were doing and how to prepare. He had a very funny and bright personality too. My cousin got diarrhea and I fell on my hand. He calmly navigated both of those problems. The chef, Rosalio, cooked excellent meals! The food was more nutritious and delicious than how I eat back home. I would definitely book with Alex and Rosalio again for a different trek!
Started Salkanty trek 5 day tripped unfortunately felled by travelers diarrhea (picked up before the trek) and had to bail on day 2 morning. The company helped me get down the mountain and back to Cusco with no problems. A very well run operation and our guide Alex was amazing. They also coordinated for me to rejoin the group in macchu picchu when feeling better. I wanted to specifically call out the cook Rosalio for the amazing food amongst the best I have ever had.
This was a very special experience. Glacial lakes, stunning views of Salkantay peak, steep jungle ravines, fantastic coffee, and on day 4 the once in a lifetime splendor of Machu Picchu. Challenging hiking at altitude, but with great support and a backup horse riding option. Our guide Tony was very friendly and brought a great passion for communication and exchange. He had excellent English. The food prepared by Eufemio and Eliseo was consistently delicious and abundant, adding a touch of luxury to the sometimes grueling days. TreXperience communicated very thoroughly and proactively before and during the trip. Very pleased with our choice!
Our guide Alex was amazing, his English was excellent and he went out of his way to fix my brothers shoes when the sole came off and he was always kind and compassionate about everyone getting through the hike. Our cook rosalio was great, the food was lovely and there was soooo much of it. Trexperience was able to pick us up from our hotel which was a significant way away from the office so that we wouldn’t have to walk for an hour at 3am. The hike was not too strenuous and we had a lot of breaks along the way. Make sure to bring warm clothes and definitely gloves, it gets very cold on the first night. Overall amazing experience and I would definitely recommend.
Do not book tours with them! They are scams. They ask for sacred valley tour $150 US dollars and after discount they charged me $95 dollars and gave me a receipt for $90 US dollars instead. Now, I found out I can book the same tour with $40 with a very good tour. Instead get the Rainbow mountain tour!
Everything was very well arranged and communication beforehand was great! We had a good and funny guide named Filio. And the cooks named Leandro en Renaldo were amazing cooks. We both eat vegetarian and the dishes they cooked were great. The hike is hard at times, but the views make it worth it.
Dear U6297XYirisl, Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the Salkantay Trek with Filio and the delicious vegetarian meals prepared by Leandro and Renaldo. Congratulations on completing this challenging and beautiful adventure! Best regards, TreXperience
We did the 4-day Salkantay Trek with TreXperience and had a great experience from start to finish. A special thanks to our guide, Eddy Puma, who shared a lot about the local history and Inca culture, making the trek much more interesting. Also, compliments to Ismael, our chef. We expected fairly basic trekking food, but every lunch and dinner was a well-prepared multi-course meal that really exceeded our expectations. One thing we especially appreciated was that TreXperience uses smaller campsites owned by local families instead of the larger commercial ones. It made the experience feel more authentic and it’s nice to know that it also supports the local community. If you’re planning to do the Salkantay Trek, we’d definitely recommend TreXperience.
Dear Dreamer64794387488, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are delighted to know that your 4-Day Salkantay Trek was a memorable and authentic adventure from start to finish. We truly appreciate your kind words about Eddy Puma and Ismael. We are happy that Eddy’s knowledge of the local history and Inca culture made the journey more meaningful, and that the delicious meals prepared by Ismael exceeded your expectations. We are also glad you enjoyed the experience with our local family-owned campsites, as supporting local communities is an important part of our approach. Thank you for recommending TreXperience. We hope to welcome you back to Peru for another unforgettable journey. Best regards, Josselyn
It was amazing! We did the 4-day hike which I would recommend. We had a cool guide (Edy Pumacahua), he guides us perfectly through the hike with enough breaks and took into account the different levels in the group. Also he was a real entertainer and told us all kinds of stories about the culture of the Incas and their belief in Pachamama (mother earth). I liked that he shared his own experiences and rituals with us, it made the group feel close. Of course also a thank you Victor and Rodrigo, they also provided the mega cool experience! Besides the guides we had Ismael as a cook, we tought the food would be ‘basic/plain’ bit we had every meal a whole banquet with different options! Would definately recommend it!
