Felsina Cucina was the highlight of our trip to Bologna. Bianca and Antonio were gracious and friendly hosts in an incredible home and their instruction was marvelous. The tagliatelle and ravioli dishes they helped us make were delicious. The wine they served was also wonderful. Highly recommend!!!
All I can say is WOW! This was the best cooking class, made even better by the wonderful company and great wine. We prepared tagliatelle pasta with Bianca's family ragu sauce, enjoyed bruschetta and Antonio's incredible venison carpaccio upon arrival, and finished with a delicious tiramisu. Thank you for such an amazing experience.
Our experience with Bianca and Antonio was fantastic. They welcomed us into their beautiful home and even picked us up from the train station. We learned several pasta shapes and made a delicious lasagna and tiramisu from her family’s recipes. It was a nice escape from the city with a beautiful view. We had a really great time and will recommend this to anyone visiting. Also, all of their pets were so welcoming too!
Highlight of our trip! It was simple to get there via train from Bologna, don't let the travel deter you. We were welcomed by Bianca and her family into their beautiful home (a hunting lodge), where the class exceeded our expectations. Bianca grew up in her generational family's trattoria, and patiently walked us through many pasta making tricks. We learned so much, ate too much delicious pasta (she made the sauces - and gave us options) but what made this experience so special were how Bianca and her husband opened their home to us. You can chose what you'd like to make from her extensive menu, and classes are private to just your group. If we are lucky enough to make it back, we will go for lunch so we can see her property (it was dark at dinner) and will try the tiramisu, which she says she's been making for >50 years!
My wife and had an absolutely wonderful experience learning how to make pasta. We chose this cooking class because of the superb reviews we read online. You will be met at the train station by either Bianca or her husband, Antonio. You will then be transported to their personal home which is high on a hill with a gorgeous and picturesque view of the countryside. During the course, you will learn how to make pasta from scratch to include the specific ingredients and techniques. You will learn how to make Bianca's famous family recipe for Ragu. Upon completion, you will then be treated with an exquisite meal with the pasta you prepared. Bianca is a terrific teacher and she and Antonio are very friendly and delightful hosts. My wife has always wanted to learn how to make pasta and she had a magnificent experience. Oh, I forgot to mention, the wine they served was also very good. Overall, you will be provided with a first class cooking class that you will not receive anywhere else!
What a great time cooking with Bianca and Antonio! My husband and I had made pasta a number of times before, but we learned lots of tips from them AND had fun doing so with several other people (this was the Shared Sunday Class). The setting is beautiful (that view behind Bianca in the photo extends far out into the countryside), and it's easy to take the train from Bologna to their town, just one stop away. Both Bianca and Antonio know their way around a kitchen and were very helpful and encouraging as we made pasta dough, then shaped it into tagliatelle, ravioli, spaghetti, rigatoni, and more. Everything was so organized, informative, and relaxed, all at the same time. If, like me, your favorite part of traveling is meeting people along the way, you'll especially like this class. I highly recommend it, both for learning some skills and having a great time doing so!
We had a fantastic evening preparing tagliatelle, ravioli, and friggione with Bianca & Antonio. Our class started with prosecco & a delicious salami/truffle appetizer enjoying the beautiful view on the patio, then we got to work on the pasta and ravioli filling of ricotta, parsley, and onion plus the friggione. Bianca & Antonio worked with us & provided excellent guidance through all the steps of mixing, kneading, and cutting both tagliatelle and ravioli. The ragu of course had to be made in advance because of the time it takes, but Bianca again provided us all the steps to follow her delicious recipe. After prep and cooking we sat down to an excellent meal accompanied with Sangiovese. What could be better? Bianca and Antonio are both warm and welcoming and fully committed to their wonderful, traditional Italian cuisine. You will be glad you chose them!
We are so happy that I found this cooking class which did not involve making pasta (although that is offered also). What a special private class in their family home. We learned how to make and enjoyed Friggone and Wild Boar Bolognese (hunted and caught by the husband). It was by far the best meal that we had during the 10 days were were in Italy. We were not short on wine and loved eating on their beautiful terrace. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
My college daughter and I took a mother-daughter trip to Italy and this cooking class and experience was an absolute highlight. Bianca and her husband Antonio greeted us like friends as we arrived. Their "hunting lodge" has gorgeous views that we enjoyed throughout the lesson and while dining al fresco. They took so much time with us making different pastas, fillings, instructing us on how to make Bolognese sauce and so much more. The class is private and I promise you won't be disappointed. Worth every penny!
What a fabulous day… a day that exceeded all expectations. We would highly recommend booking a class. We were taught how to make delicious tagliatelle al ragu, balanzoni and tirimisu by such lovely people … Bianca and her husband Antonio. We took the train from Bologna. Antonio picked us up from the station and drove us to a beautiful hunting lodge that had been in their family for 100 years… a gorgeous setting overlooking the Italian countryside to make our pasta! Bianca was very organized. Everything was measured in bowls, ready to go. We made 2 kinds of pasta dough … spinach pasta for the balanzoni, and egg pasta for the tagliatelle. Bianca was a fabulous teacher, giving clear instruction and lots of encouragement. While the pasta was drying, we made the tiramisu (wow!). We learned how to shape the balanzoni, how to cut the tagliatelle… as well as other shapes of pasta just for fun. Then how to assemble it all for the table. And then we ate … the pasta we made under the tutelage of Bianca was the best we’d eaten in the 2 weeks that we’ve been travelling around this area. Can’t wait to go home and make pasta! Thank you Bianca and Antonio!
