If you love All creatures Great and Small and the Yorkshire Dales. This is a tour for you! My wife and I had an 8 hour tour and it did not disappoint!! The tour was tailored to us and we loved it. Our guide, Alan was amazing and knowledgeable! Absolutely amazing day We will never forget it!

We did a private All Creatures Great and Small Tour with our family of 6, including 4 young kids, and Alan was incredible! He made sure we saw everything we wanted, gave us time for rest and made sure we were back for our train. He gave us an experience of a life time and we are grateful! We will be sharing their company with all we know traveling to the UK and would love to return. As a side, we messed up and initially booked with Viator, who inappropriately booked our tour and didn’t have BOB’s approval. We were devastated to miss our most anticipated experience of our trip. The guide was the best ever. He had inside knowledge that you could not get from anyone else. He knew a number of the real people and had driven a number of the actors during their tome there. He also had an aunt who worked for the vet. The real Tricki is buried in his grandma's yard. His name is Alan.

In his books, James Herriot (Alf Wight) often wrote often about the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales - and the two "All Creatures" television series highlight the countyside along with the wonderful Herriot stories. This private tour started in the fantastic James Herriot museum - a very well done depiction of Alf Wight's house with artifacts from his practice, mid-20th century times, and "All Creatures" movies and tv shows. After the museum our excellent guide, Chris, took us on a day's journey through the Dales. We enjoyed seeing the "All Creatures" sites and got a chance to view the beauty of the land described so lovingly by Alf Wight in his books. What a great day!

Chris was a great tour guide. Beautiful landscapes and quaint villages are the featured attraction. The moors are breathtaking, though a jacket is advised, even during the summer.. Some of old England has been preserved.

We splurged on this private tour and considered it money well spent, as it enabled us to see all of the primary "All Creatures" filming locations scattered across the Dales during the one day we had in York. We've had uniformly good luck with our "Best of Britian" tours, including this one. Booking through TripAdvisor/Viator was straightforward, communication with the tour company was easy, and we got prompt answers to our questions. The pricing was as advertised, and we appreciated the flexibility of having the cancellation option, as travel doesn't always work out as one expects. In this case, we are delighted it did; our expectations were met, and exceeded. We were picked up at our hotel promptly at 9:00. Chris, our guide, was brilliant, providing historical and geological insights as well as interesting show-related trivia at each location we visited. His in-depth knowledge of the Dales enabled him to tailor our tour to take in a few sights that were a little off the beaten path, have lunch at The Devonshire (aka the Drovers Arms), and still make it to the “World of James Herriot” museum in Thirsk in time to enjoy the exhibits on the life of a country vet, and the making of the two TV shows. As a bonus, we were delighted to find Grassington still decked out in vintage posters and notice-boards from recent filming. Heartily recommend!!
