We had such a brilliant time on Mad Alice’s Bloody Tour of York. She was absolutely fantastic — funny, engaging and a great storyteller. She really got people involved and made the whole group feel part of the experience. I honestly don’t know how she managed to remember everyone’s names, but she did! It was such a lovely personal touch and made the tour feel really friendly and relaxed. The stories were gruesome, fascinating and hilarious all at the same time. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend the tour to anyone visiting York. 🩸😂⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a fantastic tour- Mad Alice was very knowledgeable and funny, which made the show very entertaining.
What a great guide Mad Alice was.. highly entertaining, made the whole tour amusing and very interesting, had an amazing ability to remember people's names that makes the route personal your group.. What a superb experience to wind down after a long day out in York! Mad Alice was the greatest host, made every single person in a large group feel welcomed and gave us all a great chuckle. Atmosphere was great on a darkening autumn evening with a range of gruesome and historic stories dating through the ages, we absolutely loved it. Hats off this was a great experience!
The tour was really funny and interesting! Mad Alice has a fantastic humour and memory. She takes time to chat with everyone.

Mad Alice’s tour just has to be done if you go to York, absolutely brilliant, she took her time getting to know us as a group, remembered names and got us all involved. Learnt a lot along the way . Thank tou
Alice gave a great historical overview of York. She extended great warmth and endured everyone heard her. She explained the facts and legends of York with great fun and clarity. She was inclusive of everyone down to remembering everyone’s name. I will strongly recommend her to my friends.
Unfortunately, Mad Alice was ill during my visit but The Lady who took over was excellent! She was very engaging and funny, and brought interesting stories to life even in the pouring rain.
Enjoyable experience overall and definitely good value for money. The guide had fantastic crowd interaction, and my partner had a great time! For me personally, the content fell a little flat compared to other tours in York. A lot of the stories relied on what the guide's friends had seen rather than deep history or compelling local lore. Worth a visit, but could do with a slight tweak to the narrative. Also, there was some confusion over start and end points from the TripAdvisor booking. Make sure to double check these when booking.

I am very confused by your review...we are a historical walking tour that delves DEEP into the true bloody history of York including figures like Guy Fawkes, Dick Turpin, Margaret Clitherow and the disturbing history of the plague and the Jewish Massacre...I have no idea about "what the guide's friend had seen" comment is referring to! Which makes me wonder, were you on THIS tour with either Mad Alice or Lady Peckett?? I suspect this is posted to the wrong business but even so, your review makes no sense.... "enjoyable experience overall and good value for money..." 3 * because "its not for me..." WHAT?!?! If your partner had "a great time" then get THEM to write a more favourable review!!
