Följ med på vår liten grupputflykt från hamnen i Katakolon med vårt helt luftkonditionerade fordon (minibuss eller buss) med hoppa över kön-biljetter. Kör i 45 minuter från Katakolon till Olympia med kommentarer ombord från din guide. När du anländer till Olympia, njut av en guidad rundtur på den arkeologiska platsen och museet med en officiellt licensierad engelsktalande reseguide. Sedan har du ledig tid att utforska den moderna staden Olympia innan du återvänder till hamnen. Vi ser alltid till att du kommer tillbaka till hamnen innan "alla ombord" tid. Starttiden för turnén är beroende av kryssningsfartygets ankomsttid. Om fartyget till exempel anländer kl 09:00, kommer turen att börja kl 09:30 istället för 08:30.

På den arkeologiska platsen, bland flera andra lämningar av viktiga byggnader, kommer du att se gymnastiksalen och palaestran, den runda Philipeion, verkstaden i Phidias där guld- och elfenbensstatyn av Zeus byggdes, Zeus och Heras tempel, altaret där den olympiska facklan tänds i modern tid och den antika olympiska stadion.
I det arkeologiska museet finns alla fynd som grävts ut från den arkeologiska platsen. Brons- och leroffer (stativ och statyetter), rustningar, vaser, verktygen och koppen från Phidias verkstad, den ursnygga Hermes av Praxiteles, Nike från Paeonios och de mycket imponerande och mycket välbevarade klassiska statyerna från pedimenten av Zeus tempel, etc.
Din turné kommer att fortsätta med en helt annan atmosfär. Den moderna byn Olympia ligger bredvid den arkeologiska platsen och museet, där du kan ta en drink med lokalbefolkningen eller utforska huvudgatan med dess många butiker där du kan hitta allt, från smycken och kläder till konst och hantverk för dig och dina nära och kära!

We loved every minute of our tour! Our guide was informative and personable. She did an excellent job of avoiding the crowds whenever possible and gave us time to explore our surroundings in Olympia. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Wonderful adventure in Olympia. Zoe was just amazing…so knowledgeable and she added fun facts that gave the experience a nice twist. She was so professional and took great care with our group of 15. Exceptional museum and the ruins are amazing.

I loved this tour! We only had 11 people in our group and our guide was an archaeologist who was so informative about the entire site. We got there early and toured the museums first which really helped us understand the site before arriving. Our guide was fantastic and told us some stories of Greek mythology too!

Excellent tour of the archaeological sites and the museum. There is some shade at the site, but make sure you take a hat or umbrella and plenty of water as it gets very hot.

We were lucky enough to get Zoe as our guide. She’s a trained archeologist and knew an incredible amount of detail about the archeological site. The transportation was top notch and the tour ran right on schedule. Definitely take the lunch option if it’s offered. The food was authentic and very good.

Super tour to ancient Olympia with Niki Tours! Our guide, Zoe, was fantastic!!! She gave us background history during the drive. And she did a great job guiding us thru the ancient site. The stop at the olive oil press was fun - and very tasty. I highly recommend this tour - and Niki Tours in general!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide (I think Shelly was her name) was extremely knowledgeable and had a good understanding of archeology and the history of Greece. She organised our small group so that we did not get stuck with the masses of 40+ people bus tourists and we had a very relaxing time and back well in time for our ships departure. She also was independent and not pushing any agendas!

Our tour to Olympia and site of the original Olympic Games was unbelievable. Our tour guide Zoey was extremely knowledgeable and walked us through the various section of the site as well as through the museum. She gave a real sense of the Olympic spirit and her descriptions of the various works of art were fantastic. The tour ended with a wonderful and delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant which also included an OPA dance presentation. We truly felt immersed in the Olympic and Greek culture for a day. Kudos also to our bus driver who went out of his way to make our journey comfortable and minimize walking.
