Islander Harris Tweed® Mini Satchel Making Workshop

Heather and Ana were very helpful and the class was wonderful. So many options to choose from! The finished satchel is very cute and I will love it for years to come!

Plenty of colours and a variety of bags, straps and lids. Loved the opportunity to make a bag that was only exclusively available during the workshop. Staff were very friendly, helpful and supportive during the entire process. The bag was easy to make, an enjoyable experience and for about an hour and a half was well worth it, for a more unique experience in Edinburgh.

Great activity! Our guide was funny and was easy to talk to, helped whenever was needed. There were many different style of bags to choose and it was easy to change from what you originally booked, just pay the difference upon completion of the session. You get given care instructions and some replacement screws when your done. There are many different beautiful bags to make, and even though you may have decided on one kind, you may change your mind when you actually see the bags in person. Only took about an hour to make! Well worth it!

It was a fun time, but certainly not enough time was allocated to actually enjoy it The host spoke for 15 minutes and then a dozen people tried to cram into one area all at once to select their pieces – we were only given 5 minutes to select pieces before we were told to sit to begin the process Also, not enough options were available (for example, a red strap would have made my bag stunning but there were no red straps available / a back-up choice would have been a blue, but someone else took the blue handle before I could) It all seemed too rushed and chaotic My suggestions would be one of the following: - lenghthen it to 90 minutes - allow people earlier access to view the options available - have only 4 people go up to select at a time, limiting the crowd in the area where you select your pieces so everyone can view them well Would I suggest it to people? Sure, it makes for a great bag/keepsake. But expect it to be a rushed experience.

Great workshop! Had great picking out my bat and tartan lid to create my own handbag. The workshop leaders were quite helpful to ensure the crews for the bag were in place tightly. Received so many compliments on my handbag when sporting it.. make sure to tighten your screws regularly to be sure nothing comes loose as they suggested!

This is very well done! The satchels are great and the instructors explain everything. It’s so much fun picking out the colors and parts to the bags. You leave with a completed bag and I’ve been using it throughout my trip. Highly recommend!

Had lots of fun choosing from the many options available to make my bag. Staff (Kirsty, Taylor, Sophie) were all helpful and provided easy to follow instructions. Would definitely recommend this experience.

Connor was amazing. We had the best time and thoroughly enjoyed the process of customizing our own satchels. Conner was funny, patient and very helpful with us all. The time flew by and we didn’t want it to end.
