Vårt första stopp är den grönskande och en av Kretas representativa byar, Potamies. Vi kommer att guidas till en traditionell gård där vi kommer att se mjölkning av djur och lokala aktiviteter som osttillverkning. Där kommer vi att smaka på traditionella produkter som färskost, olivolja & rakomelo!
Nästa stopp är Aposelemis-dammen, det största vattenförsörjningsprojektet på Kreta. Byn Sfendili är nedsänkt i dammens vatten med sina imponerande gamla hus som bleknar på vattenytan. Också en naturlig våtmark med en mängd olika fåglar.
Sedan kommer vi att börja vår uppstigning med grusvägar, vi kommer att passera genom ravinen "Ebassas". Utsikten över de imponerande bergen och naturens vilda skönhet kommer att belöna dig. Vid det korta stoppet kommer guiden att samla olika lokala örter (oregano, timjan, salvia) som kretensarna brukade göra.
Efter det gör vi ett stopp vid den längsta väderkvarnlinjen på Kreta, som ligger vid ingången till Lasithi-platån. Här har vi ett panoramafototillfälle och lär oss om väderkvarnarnas historia på Kreta!
Vårt nästa stopp är på Lassithi platån där du kommer att ha ledig tid för kaffe eller valfritt att besöka den imponerande grottan Zeus (biljett till grottan ingår ej). Guden Zeus födelseplats!
Omedelbart efter kommer vi att njuta av utsökt autentisk mat, bakad i vedugnen i en av de bästa traditionella tavernor. Inklusive Mat med vin och vatten. Vänligen meddela oss om du har några matallergier eller särskilda kostbehov
Vi kommer att äta vår lunch i den mest traditionella krogen i området njuta av mat från vedugnen & lokalt vin!
Det sista stoppet kommer att vara i den traditionella byn Krasi, när man når bytorget, man kommer att se de tre enorma planen och Vryses dominera. Bland dem står det största och fleråriga platanträdet som är över 2000 år gammalt.
Vår resa kulminerar med en spektakulär panoramautsikt som sträcker sig från Sissi till Analipsi. Missa inte möjligheten att ta fantastiska bilder som kapslar in den natursköna skönheten i denna oförglömliga upplevelse.

Brilliant day from pick up to drop off. We were collected by Sebastian and due to language constraints had to be taken to meet with another Jeep and swap over so that our experience was the best for us (we are Scottish). Vagelis took us from there and I cannot express how amazing he was the entire day. His knowledge was incredible and his passion for his island really shone through and this was a huge part of what made our experience so good. He was so attentive and our personal photographer taking lots of amazing photographs, providing us memories for life. Loved seeing the caves and whilst you do pay extra to get in, I would recommend experiencing it if you are able to make it up as it is a bit of a hike so bear that in mind if you have mobility issues. Can't fault this in any way, and would highly recommend going on this trip!
We had an absolutely brilliant day on the Safari Zeus Cave trip and had such a great time as a family. The experience was made even more enjoyable by our fantastic guide, Michalis. We booked the tour through a local tour operator for two adults and our two children, aged 12 and 9. We were picked up from our hotel in the Discovery, and from the moment Michalis arrived, he was welcoming, friendly and professional. He immediately asked about our lunch preferences, as everything is freshly cooked and the order is sent through in advance. After picking up another family, Michalis explained what we could expect from the day, and we were soon on our way. Our first stop was a goat farm, where we had the chance to milk a goat and try fresh goat cheese with bread and local olive oil. Goat cheese isn't normally my kind of thing, but it was honestly delicious! We then stopped at several beautiful viewpoints, visited the oldest tree in Crete, and eventually made our way to Zeus's Cave. There is an additional €15 charge per adult for the cave, but it is definitely worth it. The cave itself was amazing. Be prepared for around a 15-minute walk up the mountain, followed by quite a few steps inside and on the way back out. The temperature is cooler inside the cave, although it wasn't too cold. Our girls were glad they had brought their hoodies. Michalis was a brilliant guide throughout the whole day. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area, shared fascinating mythology and stories, took us to some fantastic scenic spots, and was just a genuinely great guy. Considering it was his first day on the job, you would never have known — we honestly thought he'd been doing it for years! The day ended with a delicious freshly prepared meal, which was the perfect way to finish an already fantastic experience. We had an amazing time and would definitely recommend the Safari Zeus Cave trip to families looking for a fun, interesting and memorable day out in Crete. A huge thank you to Michalis for making our day so enjoyable. You were fantastic!
Niko was fun, friendly and knowledgeable, he was an absolutely amazing guide, we had the most wonderful time, we had a great group as well, we started as strangers, but we got to know each other and became friends, we had Cerys from Canada, and Gail, Simon and Holly from the UK, and they were fantastic people and we all had fun, the tour itself was exemplary, we learnt so much about the local flora and fauna as well as the history and mythology of the island, we loved Zeus’s cave, we also visited a farm, fed and milked the goats, tried some of the fresh cheese and olive oil made at the farm, and a tasty, authentic lunch at a taverna, honestly 10/10 experience and would book again
We had booked a tour today and our driver was Kevin. We had a great time, the day was varied. Plenty of time for everything. Kevin was an excellent guide! He explained everything, had humor and even our adolescents (12 and 15) had a good time. Overall a very nice day trip to do! Thanks Kevin for the nice day!

A tour that you won't soon forget, especially the driver Sebastian, who shone with knowledge and had an open ear for every passenger; you could tell that he loves his job and is dedicated to it heart and soul.
Amazing tour! Ron and Ilias were fantastic guides who made the whole day both educational and fun. Lots of amazing views and plenty of great photo stops. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a memorable experience.

We were picked up at our hotel as agreed and our driver Ron accompanied us perfectly through this adventure. He told us a lot about this beautiful island and we were able to learn many interesting things about life on Crete as well as the spices that grow on the island. My personal highlight was the visit to the farm as well as the beautiful stops in the mountains to get a holistic view of the landscape. Thank you very much for this great experience.
