Vår resa in i den kretensiska kulturen börjar med en introduktion till dess berömda "flytande guld". På en traditionell produktionsanläggning för olivolja i fyra generationer kommer du att upptäcka olivens rika historia, lära dig om skördemetoder från forntiden till idag och njuta av en provsmakning av olivolja av högsta kvalitet – en upplevelse som garanterat kommer att höja dina sinnen.
Nästa stopp vid byn Krasi där står det berömda platanträdet Krasi som är mer än 2000 år gammalt träd. Där kommer du att ha tillräckligt med tid att ta en kaffe på en av de lokala kafeneio och ta oförglömliga bilder .
Vår resa tar oss till Lasithiplatån, ett fängslande stopp rikt på både naturskönhet och antik mytologi. Omgiven av de höga Diktibergen är detta bördiga land genomsyrat av historia och tros vara Zeus födelseplats. Platån var en gång hem för världens första vindkraftpark, men innehåller fortfarande rester av sitt förflutna, med några väderkvarnar som prickar över i landskapet. När vi utforskar denna lugna fristad kommer du att bli nedsänkt i både den fantastiska utsikten och de legendariska berättelserna som gör detta land så speciellt.
Besök den legendariska grottan Zeus (Dikteon Andron), en av Kreta viktigaste mytologiska platser. Marinos was a fantastic guide for this all-day trip to Knossos Palace, Omalia Olive Oil, Zeus’s Cave, and a fabulous Cretan lunch overlooking the plateau. My wife and I enjoyed every minute, including Marinos’s sense of humor. Katerina was our guide through the Palace, and she was outstanding—not only a guide, but an archeologist herself. Highly recommend this tour and guides. Five stars!
Excellent one day trip to get a feel for the area. Marinos was an amazing tour guide. He was knowledgeable and funny. We were a small group in a comfortable van. He provided water and some local snacks. He also put on Cretan music. This trip is best for someone that doesn’t have weeks to sightseeing in an island that has too much to do. Lunch was amazing with great views and probably the cheapest we have paid since coming to Greece.
An absolute recommendation! At the very top of our personal ranking of this tour is definitely our driver Apostolos: courteous, entertaining, likable, and incredibly informative. With his knowledge, his explanations, and his pleasant manner, he made the tour a real experience for us – an absolute asset! Knossos and the impressive testimonies of the Minoan high culture were a wonderful addition to our beach vacation. We also found the fertile Lasithi Plateau particularly worth seeing, which offers a fascinating contrast to the tourist-oriented coastal regions of Crete. As Austrians – admittedly a bit spoiled by caves 😉 – the Zeus Cave did not impress us quite as much. Nevertheless, it is worth a visit and another beautiful example of how incredibly versatile Crete is. Another highlight was the visit to an olive oil press. We received many interesting insights into the production and processing of olive oil and were able to get to know truly excellent quality products. Overall, a varied, informative, and highly recommended tour, where you get to know Crete from a completely different side. And once again, a special thank you to Apostolos, who really made this day special for us!
Our driver, Apostolos was excellent, informative, responsive, very entertaining. Could not have asked for a better guide. In the Knossos Palace we had a local tour guide, Eirini; who was fantastic, very knowledgeable and informative. She was a real pleasure to have at such a historical site.

We had the pleasure of touring with Apostolos, and it was hands-down one of the best guided experiences we've had — from start to finish. Even before the tour, the company was fantastic to deal with. They communicated clearly to confirm all the details and made sure we could be picked up right from our hotel, which made everything effortless on our end. When he arrived, he made a point of checking that we were comfortable before we even got started a small touch that set the tone for the whole day. His knowledge was genuinely impressive he didn't just recite facts, he wove them into stories that brought each site to life. Every question we asked, no matter how detailed, he answered with real depth and clear enthusiasm for the subject. Our start ended up running late, but Apostolos handled it with total professionalism. Instead of rushing us through the rest of the tour to make up time, he adjusted on the fly and made sure we still got the full, unhurried experience at every stop nothing felt cut short or skipped over. That kind of care for the visitor's experience, even when the schedule works against you, says a lot about someone's dedication to their craft. For our first trip to Crete, we wanted an authentic experience and to learn about the culture. We didn’t want to be with a large group of people and we didn’t really want to do touristy activities but this is something that was a must do!! We received amazing communication with the company and our tour guide was so amazing!! Apostolos was attentive to us, answered questions, explained everything, and gave us a better understanding of the history here in Crete. Even though the tour at Knossos took longer than expected we were not rushed at any point during these activities!! Thank you!

Great trip w/ knowledgeable, entertaining, and kind guide -- Apostolos. Just enough driving to get out to various places, but not so much that it over takes the time to see and do things. The Cretan Starbucks was amazing...
Great experience of Crete highlights. Knossos temple was very impressive and the additional guide for the palace was a worth it. I enjoyed the small historic towns snd the cave of Zeus. The tour ended with a great lunch in a nice traditional restaurant. Our guide Emmanuel customized the trip for us and gave us a lot of background information. We had a great time.
