Heldagstur i Mindo Cloud Forest Fågelskådning Vattenfall och Vandring

This was an amazing day. Pato was our guide. He stopped along the way and bought some treats straight out of a street vendor's oven. One was a yuca bread that was delightful and the other was good. Pato shared significant knowledge during the ride and during the stops. The San Tadeo Birding stop was amazing with varieties of hummingbirds, getting up close with many. The hike was a bit tough with the humidity but Pato showed great patience with us. Pato also made extra effort and found us a toucan in the middle of nowhere. The birding continued during an excellent lunch stop. Food was delicious and more birds to view while dining. We stopped for chocolate tour which was an additional $10 pp but was very informative and interesting. Overall, it is estimated that we saw 35 species of birds. We came to Ecuador to go to the Galapagos but would put this day as the single day highlight of our trip.

Fantastic experience visiting volcano crater park, feeding hummingbirds by hand, butterfly houses, spotting many beautiful birds, also unique species in the forest like tucans and even the elusive Cock of the Rock! Nice lunch and plenty of snacks and bathroom breaks along the way. Don't forget to take some Ecuadorian chocolate bars home!

The Mindo Cloud Forest Tour guided by Gustavo Cañas-Valle was absolutely amazing. This private tour for two exceeded our expectations in every way. It included all admission fees, was conducted in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle, and the communication was excellent from the start. The team confirmed our tour the day before and provided a helpful list of safety guidelines and essential items to bring. Gustavo Cañas-Valle is an exceptional guide. He is a trained naturalist, an avid birdwatcher, a hummingbird expert, and someone with extensive knowledge of the region’s botany, ecology, and history. His passion for nature is contagious, and his expertise made every stop along the way fascinating. At the beginning of the tour, Gustavo gave us a thorough overview and made sure we experienced everything we wanted without ever making us feel rushed. He maintained the perfect pace throughout the day. Gustavo had a genuine desire to give us the best possible experience. He took the time to learn about our interests and food preferences, offered thoughtful recommendations, and tailored the day accordingly. His deep knowledge of the area, engaging storytelling, and enthusiasm brought the cloud forest to life and made the entire experience unforgettable.

Gustavo, our tour guide was the absolute best. Saw everything requested, with no rush. Gustavo was knowledgeable, informative, and extremely sociable. He knew all the indigenous history at the volcano, identified all the bird life at Mindo and other birding spots, leading the hike at Mindo, etc. Finished late at chocolate factory, enjoyable and interesting. I picked this tour because of strong reviews praising different guides. Gustavo was amazing; flexible to needs of individuals; never rushing us through different stops until our interests were met. I can’t speak highly enough of the wonderful day we spent with our lovely guide Carolina and courteous, safe and skilled driver Winson! This was a private tour and Carolina organised our day’s activities to perfection, accommodating our preferences and going above and beyond. Such a fabulous variety of adventures and experiences 🤗 Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful day in Mindo but we give our guide Carolina all the credit for making it seamless and fun! Both her and our driver were great. Carolina was knowledgable, friendly, flexible and listened to what was important to us and tailored our tour accordingly. We never felt pressured for time and really felt like our enjoyment was her top priority. We returned to Quito ~7:30pm after a long hike to the furthest waterfall, zip lining, quad motor tour, dinner, and hummingbird visit. Mindo itself is a charming town and there were plenty of fun things to do. We highly recommend this tour group primarily because of Carolina and our safe and friendly driver!

Wonderful day with Pato to Mindo. He speaks perfect English, and we could chat on different topics for the whole day. He is like a friend now. He also does his job professionally, and he has good experience running the trip. I will highly recommend him if you are looking for a tour in and around Quito.

We had an excellent day. Our driver was on time, knowledgeable, made good suggestions on the order we did our tours and picked a great place for lunch.

This tour was fantastic. We were given options for our day based on our personal preferences so that everything was exactly what we wanted. It is hard to imagine that we fit so much in to one day. We stopped to visit a dormant volcano, picked up some fresh bread to share during our ride. Pato took us to see so many wonderful tanagers and hummingbirds. We were able to feed the hummingbirds out of our hand, what a wonderful experience. We took a cable car ride went on a hike to a waterfall and then went to lunch at a wonderful restaurant where we could view more birds and the food was excellent. We were given a wonderful tour at a butterfly farm where we saw more birds and finally a chocolate tour and tasting before our ride back to Quito. If I could rate this tour higher than a 5/5 I would. A wonderful day.

It's a really full day full of wonderful experiences. Pato is an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and excellent company. The volcanic crater, the birds, the butterflies, the cloud forest and waterfall, the artisan chocolate making, even the lunch spot were all fantastic.
