Mindo Valley ligger vid mötesplatsen för två av de mest biologiskt olika regionerna: Chocoan Lowlands och Tropical Andes. Besök olika platser i Mindo-Nambillo Ecological Reserve. Observera fåglar och välj mellan ett zipline-äventyr eller en promenad till ett vattenfall. Smak på läckra lokala specialiteter och besök en fågel- eller fjärilreserv innan du återvänder till Quito.

Tidigt på morgonen lämna Quito med bil som kör nordväst om Pichincha-provinsen. Kör genom vägen till kusten (Mitad del Mundo - Calacalí - Los Bancos) och njut av utsikten över små städer på motorvägen och bevittnar en häpnadsväckande landskapstransformation på vägen. Efter ungefär en och en halvtimme anländer du till den vackra Mindo Parrish När du anländer till Mindo Cloud Forest tar du en liten promenad genom staden och sedan mot fjärilsfarm och Hummingbird Feeders (glöm inte din kamera). Efteråt kan du välja önskat äventyr: Alternativ 1: För äventyrsökande, gå till Canopying, 13 zip-linjer i olika längder som sträcker sig från 20 till 400 meter, en adrenalinfylld resa som möjliggör en fantastisk utsikt över molnskogen. (Kostnad för Canopy-aktiviteten ingår inte i priset för turnén) Alternativ 2: Gå på ett vandringsäventyr över molnskogen mot ett vattenfall och åka Mindos berömda "Tarabita" (kabeltram). Ta dig tid att observera Mindos naturliga skönhet och mångfald. Ta en paus för en lokal lunch. Utforska Mindo en gång till och besöka en annan speciell plats för att se kolibrier, fjärilar och, med lite tur Tanagers och Toucans. Gå tillbaka till Quito cirka 17.00. * VIKTIG NOTERING: För fredagsavgångar (öppna avgångar), träffa din guide och andra resenärer kl. 06.45 på den centralt belägna mötesplatsen vid Mariscal Barrio klockan 06.45. The guide didn’t speak English and made us pay for lunch which was supposed to be included. Overall do not recommend
The tour guide picked us up at the hotel at 8 am and took us in his Subaru to the Mindo Cloud Forrest. He explained the history of the areas we passed and we stopped on the way to see local sights of interest, because as we were a small group, everyone agreed to see as much as possible. In Mindo, we decided to hike. In order to get to the various hiking paths, our guide drove us to the cable car that crosses a canyon. The adventure could begin. Once on the other side of the canyon, we hiked to the waterfall first, then to the river and swimming area. The colors of the sky and plants were spectacular. A late lunch at a hotel in town was another highlight. Great service and delicious food selections. Next door, we stopped for coffee in a small coffee shop before returning to Quito. We also passed the equator on the way back, and made a quick stop for selfies. What a wonderful day!
For more than 70 USD you get nothing more than the bus trip to Mindo and a lunch. There is no entrance fee to any attraction included, which is not directly visible from the description. Not recommendable!
Mindo is beautiful especially for adventure-seekers. We swam in the waterfall and it was the highlight of our trip. Cannot recommend our guide, Francisco, enough. He went above and beyond to make our trip fun!
