Saint Sophia "Haghia Sophia" på grekiska betyder "gudomlig visdom", är en extraordinär arkitektonisk prestation från 600-talet. Byggt av Anthémios de Tralles och Isodore de Millet invigdes av Justinien och hans fru Théodora (537). Detta bysantinska mästerverk har fantastiska mosaiker med guldbakgrund och färgade kulor. Justinian för byggandet av kupolen hade beställt från Rhodos jordstenar så ljusa att tolv av dem vägde inte mer än en vanlig tegel, de bar följande inskription: "Det är Gud som grundat, kommer Gud att hjälpa honom. " Ottomanerna hade förvandlat den till en moské, sedan 1935 blev det ett museum.
Blå moskén (1609-1616) är en av de mest kända moskéerna i världen med sex minareter, den är skyldig sitt keramiska plattor (cirka 20 000) från Iznik (Nicea), övervägande blå som sträcker sina inre väggar. .
Palatset i TOPKAPI har fyra olika gårdar, det bosatte sig på 70ha före byggandet av järnvägsnätet och var sultanernas bostad fram till 1800-talet. I fyra århundraden var det det administrativa centrumet för det osmanska riket. Slottet höll huvudkontoret för DIVAN, den viktigaste kroppen. Det enorma köket matas mellan 4 och 5 tusen människor om dagen. Idag är köket värd för en samling kinesiska och japanska porslin. Dess berömda skatt, med 86-karat "kasikçi" diamant, guldkronor dekorerade med diamanter, sultanens troner är vittnen till imperiets rika historia. På slottets 3: e innergård finns hallen för relikerna av profeten Mohammed, det är en helig plats för muslimer. Kioskerna på den 4: e gården kompletterar denna arkitektoniska skönhet i palatset. På dessa terrasser har du en hisnande utsikt över Guldhornet och Bosporen.
En vattenreservoar från 500-talet med 336 kolonner och en volym på 90 000 m³.

Our week in Istanbul would not have been so rich in discoveries without Mustafa's company. This guide is passionate and makes the tours very interesting and enjoyable. Back from SRI LANKA and MALDIVES we stopped for 3 nights and 2 days in Istamboul. We were 4 and we spent these 2 days on the old town with Mustapha. Its strengths: punctuality, availability, listening to its customers, adapting to the pace of customers, speaking perfect French and very in-depth knowledge of the history and culture of its country. Besides, in the big bazaar, he avoided tourist routes to take us to the "local part" and show us "real life". If you can, for the cruise on the Bosphorus I recommend the option "private boat" which in addition to the longer duration (+/- 1 hour) also allows to take full advantage of the knowledge of Mustapha. This guide has passionate us to the point that we will go again to Istamboul and certainly then to Cappadocia and we will use his services at that time. I recommend you 200%!!!
