Den unika showen "How the Andalusian Horses Dance” (Hur andalusiska hästar dansar), är en hästdans ackompanjerad av renodlad spansk musik och 1700-talsdräkter, alltsammans komponerat och koreograferat med rörelser baserade på klassisk dressyr, Doma Vaquera (lantlig ridningsstil) och traditionella ryttarstilar.

Varje show består av mellan sex och åtta olika koreografier, med samma svårighetsgrad och underhållningsvärde och planeras av skolan enligt följande repertoar;
Doma Vaquera; en demonstration av färdigheterna i denna spanska riddisciplin baserad på traditionell boskap. Ryttaren rider sin häst runt arenan med bara en hand, först trav och senare galopperar: Ändrar rytmen och utför sedan piruetter och arreoner (bryter i en galopp).
Klassisk dressyr; "The Colts", "Airs on Horseback", "Pas de Deux" "Passage and Piaffer", "Domino on Horseback", "Airs over the Ground" och "Fantasy", är bara några av de kärngrafier som utgör repertoar av föreställningen. Hästar utför avancerade ryttarövningar för klassisk musik som följer med dem medan de spelar på arenan
Vagnkörning; hästar visar också sina förmågor genom att rita vagnar. Dessa hästdragna vagnar användes ursprungligen för transport men förflyttas nu till sport och utställningar med klassiskt sele och drivs av tränare, som skickligt demonstrerar denna spännande färdighet.
Arbeta i hand; Hästen följer också sin ryttare även när ryttaren inte är i sadeln genom att genomföra klassiska Haute École dressyrövningar som levader, caprioles, courbettes, piaffe (mellan pelarna), den spanska promenaden och långa tyglarna.
Karusell; En grupp hästar och ryttare utför unisont avancerade ryttarövningar på arenan för att ge ett mest passande slut på föreställningen.

Good but not great.
The show was great. The riders and horses were very talented.
What spoiled it for me was the inability to take photos or videos in the arena.
If they simply said that you can record these at the end of the show when the performers and horses are taking a bow that would be enough.
When they announce this they state you can buy videos and grifts in the shop. This is an obvious commercial exploitation.
One lady in front of me took videos and no staff stopped her. This makes me feel even more cheated.
They need to get up to date with the 21st century.

Horses in Jerez
The dressage parts of the show are amazing and thankfully this is the majority of the show. The horses seem to be well looked after and are gently patted after their part of the show. Horses and riders are well schooled.
However, the circus part of the show left me feeling uncomfortable. The horses didn’t look to be enjoying it, some struggled and were made to repeat the action. This part of the show surely could be avoided so that just the partnership of rider and horse could be celebrated.

Absolutely fantastic!!...
Absolutely fantastic!! Well worth going to see. My mum and I went to see it and we both loved it. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Jerez.

Show that is an absolute must-do
Very beautiful show, which lets you imagine the enormous amount of training work beforehand. Everything is superb: the presence of the riders, the performance of the horses, and the beauty of the place

Not bad for the ticket price but aimed at Spanish speakers
We hadn’t heard of the Escuela before we went but as we were in Jerez for several days it seemed like a must-do when we found out about it. We did enjoy it, but were disappointed at the lack of explanation of what the horses were doing in any language other than Spanish. As non-riders we would probably have got more out of the performances if we’d understood, and hence appreciated, the technicalities of what the horses and riders were doing better. We also thought it was a bit mean-spirited not to allow photographs. Banning flash would be understandable, but no photos at all just smacks of a marketing ploy to sell you merchandise.

A fantastic afternoon watching such skill on display from both horse and rider!
Wonderful skill on display from horses and riders - 45 minutes, then break with a further 30 minutes. Get there in time to walk around the palace and gardens. There’s a fabulous gift shop, bar and cafe. A great afternoon out with these magnificent horses. But no photos allowed!
