Seljalandsfoss é uma cachoeira que pode ser totalmente cercada, situada na costa sul da Islândia, com uma queda de 60 metros (200 pés).
Skógafoss é uma das mais belas cachoeiras da Islândia. Esta cascata clássica de 62m de altura e 15m de largura é a última e mais espectacular de uma série de quedas que se encontram no rio Skógá.
Reynisfjara é uma praia de areia negra que foi classificada em 1991 como uma das dez praias não tropicais mais bonitas do mundo. Considera-se por muitos a praia mais perigosa na Islândia para a sua corrente potente. Apenas fora da costa são Reynisdrangar, pilhas de mar de basalto situadas sob a montanha Reynisfjall perto da aldeia Vík í Mýrdal.
Dyrhólaey, anteriormente conhecido pelos marinheiros como Cape Portland, é um pequeno promonotory localizado na costa sul da Islândia, não muito longe da aldeia Vík. A península tem uma elevação de 120 pés (37 m), e o farol Dyrhólaey fica no topo da formação de frente para o mar. A vista de Dyrhólaey é larga: ao norte é para ser visto o grande glaciar Mýrdalsjökull. A leste, as colunas de lava negra do Reynisdrangar saem do mar e, a oeste, o litoral inteiro em direção a Selfoss. No verão, muitos papagaios-do-mato atlântico podem ser encontrados aninhando-se nas faces da falésia de Dyrhólaey.

I found Walter on TripAdvisor while planning our Iceland stop on a cruise from Southampton. We were traveling from Bermuda aboard the Norwegian Prima, and from the very first message, Walter felt like someone we could count on. He stayed in touch for months to sort out the plans, always quick to respond, always accommodating. By the time we met in person it felt like greeting an old friend. We spent two days touring with him. One exploring the South Coast from Reykjavík and the other touring the Reykjanes Peninsula before heading to KEF. Everything went smoothly. Walter took care of every detail. He showed up with water and snacks, made sure we were all comfortable and well fed and somehow made the day feel both exciting and easy. He taught us Icelandic along the way, had us practicing words like fjall, foss, jökull, and of course Hekla. He told us the stories behind the land, the volcanoes, the waterfalls…he brought Iceland to life for us in such a beautiful way. Walter has this calm and generous energy that makes you feel instantly at ease. We laughed, we learned and we felt completely cared for from start to finish. By the end of our trip, Walter didn’t feel like a tour guide. He felt like family. If he ever comes to Bermuda, we would welcome him with open arms. What he gave us was more than just a tour. It was a memory we’ll hold onto for a very long time. Takk fyrir, Walter. Hjartans þakkir. You will always have a place in our hearts.

My sister and I booked both airport pickup and a south coast tour with Walter, and our experience was nothing short of fantastic. Walter was ready to pick us up right when we landed, and he was friendly and helpful throughout the day. He handled our flight delay and a hotel mixup with grace, and he was more than willing to accommodate our questions and interests on the south coast tour. The south coast tour was impressive. We saw amazing waterfalls, the black sand beach, puffins, and more. Walter was very knowledgeable about every area we visited, and he knew a great spot for us to eat along the way. He is a safe driver, a fun tour guide, and a kind person. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with him in the future should we ever return to Iceland!
