Our trip with the Thelma “The Queen” was made enjoyable because of her. We would definitely recommend this tour to others.
Fabulous day at Honfleur and Deauville, beautiful beach resort and cute quaint French seaport. Plenty of time to shop, eat, and experience the culture! Our guideThelma was amazing, super knowledgeable and plenty of useful information!
Finding the meeting point was not very clear. We were there before 9:15. No one with signs when exiting the ship. It would have helped to have the check in people wear recognizable colorful shirts or jackets. Instructions said to meet by the gates, a 5-8 minute walk. We were there along with 3 others for Vexpeiro and they said the Google map link said we had to go further. I tried to call the 44 number but call didn’t go thru. I was trying to call the 317 number on what’s app but noticed they were calling me. We finally met up. Stressful start. Velma our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable however with a group of 33 and very narrow passageways in Honfleur sometimes when the people in the back got to the stop she was done explaining what it was so we missed it. She did make the bus ride enjoyable and did the best she could with a large group.

We are sorry that the beginning of the excursion felt stressful, although our team was present at the designated meeting point as communicated before the tour. A large team of port assistants wearing clearly identifiable Vexperio vests was waiting there with multiple Vexperio signs. The meeting point was located a short walk from the ship, rather than directly at the ship’s exit, and detailed directions, a map and our direct contact information were sent by both email and SMS. The telephone numbers mentioned in your review belong to Viator and not to Vexperio. As soon as we realised that you had not reached the meeting point, one of our port assistants went beyond the parking area to look for you and bring you to the group. We strongly encourage all travellers to check the latest email and SMS messages sent before departure, as these contain the confirmed meeting instructions and the direct contact details of our local team. We are nevertheless very happy that, after the difficult start, you enjoyed the excursion and appreciated Velma’s friendly manner, knowledge and efforts to keep a large group engaged. The bus was nice but what we experienced was limited by an awful tour guide. Walked too fast without using any amplifier so we could not hear him and his accent was heavy. Did not give help with restrooms other than telling us to eat at restaurant and use the bathroom. We were basically left on our own. This tour was expensive and it was the worst tour we endured in our many years of travel. We only had 35 minutes in Deauville and went to another town not on itinerary for an hour on our own that was basically eating places, no shops and a beach we weren't dresses for. This was not what was described online when we booked it. Very disappointed. This tour could have been good with a good guide.
Dear Edward. We are very sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. Regarding the restroom, unfortunately, there is no free public restroom available at the location where you asked. This is why our guide recommended using the restroom at a nearby restaurant. In some locations, restaurants may require a purchase to use their facilities, which is unfortunately outside of our control. We would also like to clarify that both Honfleur and Deauville are included in the advertised itinerary. In both towns, the tour includes a guided portion followed by free time, allowing guests to explore the French coastal towns at their own pace. We are sorry that you felt the time and guided portions did not provide the experience you were expecting. Great tour. Our guide Lawrence was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable and has a great personality. I would recommend this tour.
We were hesitant to book the Viator since the cruise lines caution passengers about getting back on time before the ship sails. Since Viator offered the Honfleur and Deauville excursion we decided to do this one no regrets, the tour guide brought us back to the ship several hrs before departure and we were about to book another excursion to Le Havre. Viator tour guides are very aware of boarding times no need to stress...in fact now that we are comfortable with booking Viator Shore excursions we will continue to search out great excursions for our future trips! In addition Laurence aka Larry the tour guide was fantastic he was very patient always a nice smile when you asked questions always willing to help with making the trip the best! He always had a good side...I don't think he has a bad side, his personality was very nice!
The visit to Deauville was just ok ... we went to the beach and just walked around. I think it would have been better to walk around the town. Honfleur was nice and we enjoyed a nice lunch and walking around the town. The tour guide Lawrence was great. He gave us some interesting facts about the places we wisited.

I feel this tour was misleading and a let down overall. We spent 40 minutes in deauville and I’m not sure why we even bothered to go there if we were only going there for such a short time. Then we went to Honfleur which the guide described as the most beautiful place with a postcard picturesque view. It was not. It was a tourist spot with junky flea market finds and really nothing to see. We were given 2 hours of free time there! We could have easily divided our time between the two places, with deauville hanging so much more to see than honfleur but instead we were stuck in this little town with absolutely nothing to do for eons. Guide was knowledgeable but the tour really was not worth the time or money.

We did a 6-hour tour of the harbour, Deauville and Hon Fleur. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the history and culture of the town and buildings. Amazing tour conducted by the guide from Vexperio.
