Welkom in Georgië, een land waar de Joodse gemeenschap al meer dan 26 eeuwen floreert zonder vervolging. Joodse kolonisten vonden hier een toevluchtsoord en integreerden naadloos in de Georgische samenleving in een opmerkelijk bewijs van harmonie en coëxistentie. Door de eeuwen heen hebben ze hun eigen cultuur en geloof behouden, omarmd als gekoesterde leden van de Georgische familie. Begin je tour bij het David Baazov Georgisch-Joodse Vriendschapsmuseum, dat de blijvende band tussen de twee gemeenschappen symboliseert. Wandel door de Leselidzestraat, ooit bruisend van het Joodse leven, en ontdek de levendige verhalen over veerkracht en solidariteit. Bezoek twee synagogen, elk een bewijs van de blijvende geest van het Georgische Jodendom. Ontrafel het rijke tapijt van het Georgisch-Joodse erfgoed, een bewijs van de blijvende kracht van eenheid en acceptatie.

Het museum is het hoogtepunt van onze tour. Hier zie je voorwerpen die door de eeuwen heen door Georgische joden zijn verzameld. Ontdek de belangrijke rol die Georgische joden speelden bij het vormgeven van de cultuur en de sterke banden tussen deze twee gemeenschappen.
De synagoge is het hart van het joodse erfgoed in Tbilisi. Het werd gebouwd in 1904 en functioneert tot op de dag van vandaag. Het is de plaats waar Joodse Georgiërs trouwen en elke dag de gebeden bijwonen.
Kleine synagoge aan de Kote Afkhazi-straat. Joodse mensen uit verschillende landen kwamen samen in Tbilisi en richtten samen de synagoge op. We hebben de kans om meer te leren over de Tbilisise Joden na een bezoek aan deze plaats.

Who knew Georgia had such a rich Jewish history?! I loved this from to finish - 2 synagogue visits and the Jewish museum, followed by kosher wine tasting! Teona is super knowledgable about Georgian history and how the Jewish community fits into it. She is well versed in Jewish traditions and able to speak to every issue impacting the community thru modern day. Really recommend this tour for those wanting expand their understanding of Georgia and the international Jewish community!

Teona was friendly and knowledgeable guide. She had a great intrest in Jewish history in Georgia and was passionate to show us around her wonderful city. We saw 2 synagogues and a Jewish museum. I had great experience in learning of Georgia unique distinct Jewish people, heritage, legacy and continuity. Teona was very helpful, best communicator, and gave perfect insights. After exploring so Much in Georgia I’m glad during the last days in tblisi it ended perfectly, not just memorable but for me to come to Georgia frequently. Lastly I had amazing kosher wine tasting.

Wonderful tour! Really worth while. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the Jewish history of Georgia. The museum was very good and also didn’t take a large amount of time. Going to different synagogues was also interesting. The kosher wine tasting was a nice add on but just know, you only get to try one wine of your choosing. The whole experience was really enjoyable, highly recommend!

The Jewish tour in Tbilisi was very illuminating and interesting. Teona explained the history of the Jewish people in Georgia, emphasizing the warm relationship the community has had for millenia with the Georgian people. The tour includes beautiful synagogues (including one that isn't open to the general public) along with historical stories and legends. Teona guided us through the Jewish Museum and added much needed context to help bring the history alive. It was fascinating. At the end of the tour we visited a small wine shop and tasted a variety of wines. I highly recommend this tour

Very nice tour with Teona. I was curious about Jewish history of Tbilissi, because my Hostel is in the Jewish Neighborhood. Very well explained and nice places (synagogues) visited.
