Ga op een exclusief wandelavontuur met kleine groepen in het Cajas National Park, een UNESCO-werelderfgoed dat bekend staat om zijn adembenemende landschappen en rijke biodiversiteit. Begin je reis bij de continentale kloof, waar wateren naar zowel de Stille Oceaan als de Atlantische Oceaan stromen, met een uniek geografisch perspectief. Ga verder naar het Toreadora Refuge, gelegen te midden van de hooglanden van het park, en doorkruis paden die kronkelen door een betoverend tapijt van gletsjermeren en het zeldzame Polylepis Forest, de thuisbasis van enkele van 's werelds hoogstgelegen boomsoorten. Sluit uw ontdekkingstocht af in het serene Llaviuco montane bos, dompel uzelf onder in zijn rustige schoonheid tijdens een tweede verkwikkende wandeling. We beginnen onze tour met het ophalen van hotels in Cuenca. We rijden ongeveer een uur naar het toevluchtsoord Toreadora van waaruit we een wandeling maken in de hooglanden door het heide-ecosysteem van wetlands en meren om bij het unieke bos van Polylepis-bomen te komen. Dit zijn de hoogst groeiende bomen ter wereld en komen oorspronkelijk uit Zuid-Amerika. Het park omvat ongeveer 768 meren op een oppervlakte van 70.533 acres. Het is een van de belangrijkste waterbronnen in Cuenca en Ecuador. Het heeft internationale bekendheid gekregen in verschillende categorieën: Wetland of International Importance in 2002 door RAMSAR, Area of International Importance for the Conservation of Birds door IBA in 2003, en Biosphere Reserve door UNESCO in 2013.
Daarna zullen we het Llaviuco Cloud Forest verkennen, waar u het contrast van het park kunt waarderen tijdens onze 1,5 uur durende wandeling. Als we geluk hebben, zien we misschien Tucans. Na een dagvullend avontuur rijden we terug naar Cuenca. We stoppen bij een lokaal restaurant voor de lunch. De specialiteit is forel!

- Vegetarische/Veganistische/Glutenvrije/Lactosevrije opties zijn beschikbaar, gelieve dit tijdens het reserveren aan te geven indien nodig.
- Voor 1 tot 6 passagiers zal ook een tweetalige gids de chauffeur zijn. Voor meer dan 6 passagiers wordt een chauffeur en een tweetalige gids verstrekt. Max groepsgrootte 15 passagiers.
- Het ophalen van hotels bij Shared Tours begint vóór deze tijd, u moet contact opnemen met de lokale serviceprovider om uw exacte ophaaltijd te verifiëren.

The hike in Las Cajas was fantastic! There were 3 other young ladies on the hike with us. We were guided by Winston. He paced the hike just right, took us to trails that were challenging and got us to excellent views. The lunch was good. The potato soup was delicious. The trout was just ok. A little bland. The warm drinks were good.

Beautiful hike through the nature reserve. Finished with a good hot meal. Make sure you wear good clothes or bring them with you. It can be cold and windy.
