Voor reizigers met beperkte tijd, combineren we twee van de belangrijkste attracties in Cuenca: ten eerste, de belangrijkste Inca-site in Ecuador, en later twee ambachtelijke dorpen waar ambachten zoals ikat-weavings, fijne filigrain-sieraden en meer worden gemaakt. Hoogtepunten: • Bezoek de grootste Inca-archeologische vindplaats in Ecuador en de enige elliptische tempel van het Inca-rijk. • Krijg geweldige panoramische uitzichten op onvergetelijke landschappen van de Andes vol contrasten. • Kijk hoe de lokale bevolking sjaals weven met de unieke techniek van "Ikat" die is ontwikkeld door de pre-Columbiaanse stammen. • Bekijk de beroemde sieraden en keramiek van Chordeleg.

Bereid je voor op een opwindende reis door de adembenemende hooglanden van Ecuador, waar adembenemende vergezichten bij elke bocht wachten. Onze bestemming? De ontzagwekkende Ingapirca, een indrukwekkende Inca-forttempel doordrenkt van geschiedenis. Het wordt beschouwd als de belangrijkste archeologische vindplaats van Ecuador en het is niet moeilijk te begrijpen waarom. De ongelooflijke technische vaardigheden en architectonische bekwaamheid van de Inca-bevolking zijn duidelijk zichtbaar in deze site die is gebouwd door zonaanbidders.
Ons avontuur gaat verder met een schilderachtige rit van 1,5 uur naar de charmante dorpjes Gualaceo en Chordeleg, waar een heerlijke traditionele lunch in het Arhana Resort wacht. Ons vaste menu bestaat uit een voorgerecht, hoofdgerecht, frisdrank en een klein dessert, met vegetarische en veganistische opties op aanvraag.
Onze volgende stop is Chordeleg, een stad die bekend staat om zijn getalenteerde juweliers en andere handwerkwinkels. Hier heb je vrije tijd om te winkelen of om de fascinerende sfeer van de stad op te snuiven. Of je nu op jacht bent naar het perfecte souvenir of gewoon op ontdekkingstocht wilt gaan, dit is een geweldige tussenstop.
In Gualaceo bezoeken we het koloniale plein, je dompelt jezelf onder in de rijke geschiedenis en onweerstaanbare charme van de stad. Geniet van een kopje koffie en voor de avonturiers, probeer de traditionele Rosero-drank. Het is de perfecte manier om de authentieke smaken van Ecuador te ervaren.
Bij onze laatste stop bezoeken we de werkplaats van een lokale familie waar je getuige kunt zijn van het ingewikkelde proces van het weven van sjaals en poncho's op antieke weefgetouwen. Door gebruik te maken van kleurstoffen gewonnen uit planten, is deze traditionele methode van generatie op generatie doorgegeven. Na een volle dag gaan we terug naar Cuenca.

Our guide Diego was excellent and made the experience great with all his historical knowledge of the country, and its ancient civilizations. He was attentive and very attentive. I would not hesitate to recommend it warmly. As we were only 3 people, it was a "private" tour if you can put it that way. The restaurant chosen was excellent and the service impeccable. Amazing trip! Our guide Juan, and driver Homero picked us up at our hotel. Our van was comfortable and Homero was a safe driver. Juan is a local guide and is very knowledgeable about Cuenca and the surrounding areas. As we traveled he provided information about the area, its history and the environment around us. At Ingapirca he provided a great tour, not only teaching us about the site but various flora and fauna we saw. The learning continued as we visited Gualaceo and learned about the lkat style of weaving. Lunch was delicious and well worth the price! An appetizer, soup, entree, dessert and drink. Chordeleg was amazing and we enioyed seeing how the silver filigree is made. Last stop was back at the large Gualaceo market. Juan helped us find an amazing bakery where we had delicious Rocio (a local fruit drink) and bread. Homero safely delivered us back to our hotel. Fabulous tour with an excellent guide!
