Dagtrip naar het Tortuguero Nationaal Park en de kanalen vanuit San Jose

Dit betoverde en afgelegen park is de veilige hemel voor veel verschillende diersoorten, niet alleen afkomstig uit Costa Rica, maar ook uit Amerika. Terwijl we door de wateren van de verborgen lagunes en kanalen reizen terwijl de bloeiende met wijnranken bedekte bomen opgaan in hun eigen waterreflectie, zullen we de unieke ervaring hebben om verschillende soorten flora en fauna van zo dichtbij mogelijk te observeren. Het is gemakkelijk om verschillende soorten krokodillen, toekans, apen, slots, ara's, leguanen en enkele anderen te observeren. Onder deze soorten vinden we de majestueuze groene zeeschildpad (Chelonia mydas) die in Tortuguero 34 kilometer strand heeft om in te nestelen (juli tot oktober); de grootste broedplaats van het westelijk halfrond. Tortuguero wordt beschouwd als de belangrijkste broedplaats in de westelijke helft van het Caribisch gebied voor de groene schildpad die elk jaar naar het strand komt om te broeden. . Houd er rekening mee dat de nesttocht alleen 's nachts plaatsvindt en dat u tijdens deze eendaagse tour geen schildpadden op het strand zult zien nestelen.

Terwijl we rijden, zien we eerst de koffieplantages, daarna gaan we de bergen van Braulio Carrillo National Park in, waar steile hellingen bedekt zijn met dik nevelwoud en vanaf de weg prachtige watervallen te zien zijn.
we verlaten onze bus en beginnen aan het meest opwindende deel van deze tour: de boottocht naar de jungle van Tortuguero National Park, waar we zullen leren hoe de natuur werkt, en om een echt gevoel te krijgen van ons tropische vochtige regenwoud. Met een oppervlakte van 29.000 hectare. Tortuguero is een van de belangrijkste broedplaatsen van Chelonia Midas, de groene zeeschildpad. Waar de bossen en waterwegen de thuisbasis zijn van bedreigde zoogdieren zoals luiaards, apen, agouti's, coatimundis en zeekoeien. Er zijn ook tal van vogels, zoals toekans, trogons, zilverreigers, reigers en aningha's, evenals krokodillen, schildpadden en talloze kleurrijke vlinders, waaronder blauwe morpho. 'S Middags kunt u genieten van een stevig, typisch lunchbuffet om de hongerige honger te stillen. Na de lunch maken we een wandeling door het Tortuguero-dorp, waar we de kans krijgen om meer te weten te komen over de geschiedenis van de stad en haar inwoners. We keren terug naar de bus en gaan terug naar San José. We stoppen onderweg en komen rond 18.30 uur aan.

It is a long day but is definitely worth it. We saw all of the wild animals we were hoping to see and our guides were very knowledgeable.

We had a great time on this tour! Saw so many cool animals. Friendly and very knowledgeable team. Only four of us plus the guide. It was a long drive out but worth it. Would definitely recommend!

Our guide Al was amazing! He was so excited to point out all the flora and fauna along the way to Limon province. He even brought some delicious local fruit for our group to try. We really enjoyed the river cruise as well as the hike in the jungle. The village of Tortuguero was very interesting too. Highly recommend!

This was a premium experience, pickup in private car, super comfy and nice and cool. Our guide and driver drove our party of 3. We stopped and saw Sloths thanks to eagle eye guide. We had great informative conversations about Costa Rica which only enriched our experience. When we got to tortuguerro we began our bout ride which was a blast, breakfast and lunch was great very cool Tico stops. I could say more but will leave some of the cool stuff for you to see yourself, it's a great tour job at book it for a super cool experience. Thank you Ronnie, and Ronnie#2 (our boat captain. It is a nice and interesting day trip. Firstly the boat trip on the river is very interesting , along the river we were able to see a lot small animals, birds, even crocodiles. The only thing I hope it can be improved is the meals.

It was fun, we ended up only have us 2 and 1 other person. The tour was good, we had to rush because the roads opened late. Not to the fault of our driver/guide. I would say this one section is very physically asking. So be aware that if they tell you to walk up the steps, if you feel it’s not right for you physically, don’t push yourself to do it. However very nice tour :)

The driver with the van was 1h30' late, the whole planning of the guide went wrong and the planned activities did not take place. Because we left too late we ended up in traffic jams on the way back which took another 2h time delayed. I would definitely not book another trip with tripadvisor. It was one of the worst outings we did in Costa Rica.
