Deze geweldige klassieke stadstour door Beijing omvat zowel het bezoeken van de meest populaire attracties als enkele kleine historische steegjes. Ga vervolgens naar de prachtige Verboden Stad, het grootste keizerlijke paleis ter wereld. Je zult een paar uur ronddwalen door dit geweldige voorbeeld van keizerlijke architectuur en leren over de geschiedenis van het paleis. De hele ochtendtour duurt ongeveer 2 uur.
Na de lunch bezoekt u de klassieke en historische Hutong-steegjes met een riksja. In Beijing zijn hutongs steegjes gevormd door lijnen van Siheyuan, traditionele binnenplaatsen. Veel buurten werden gevormd door de ene siheyuan met de andere te verbinden om een hutong te vormen en vervolgens de ene hutong met de andere te verbinden. Het woord hutong wordt ook gebruikt om naar dergelijke buurten te verwijzen. Aan het einde bezoek je de Tempel van de Hemel, het is een imperiaal complex van religieuze gebouwen gelegen in het zuidoostelijke deel van centraal Beijing. I did a tailor made two-day trip encompassing the square, forbidden city, summer palace, temple of heaven and the pearl market. We used public transport to make this affordable as I was travelling alone which worked well. Lunches were fabulous- good quality local restaurants and food chosen was tasty. This was a hot and busy time of year. The sights were great- the crowds less so. James was a great guide- plenty of information but not too much and brilliant at answering questions. My slight criticism is that it would have been better for the square/forbidden city and summer palace to have started the day earlier (and finished earlier). Catherine Lu Tours is a great and professional company and I wholeheartedly recommend them- I booked with them directly so I could include all the things I wanted to see, high meant I got to have the same guide in Beijing for 3 days.

My fabulous guide Mei, met me at my hotel and from there on it was an excellent experience with detailed knowledge of all the sites. The traditional tea ceremony was really good with tastings of five different teas then moved on for a wonderful “local” lunch.
