De Verboden Stad staat ook bekend als het Paleismuseum. Het was de keizerlijke residentie van 24 keizers uit de Ming- en Qing-dynastie en het centrum van de politieke macht in China gedurende meer dan 500 jaar, van 1420 tot 1924. Het paleis staat op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO en is een van de populairste toeristische attracties ter wereld. De Verboden Stad is waarschijnlijk het beroemdste paleis in de hele Chinese geschiedenis en is het grootste en best bewaarde koninklijke paleiscomplex ter wereld dat nog steeds bestaat. Vanwege de vele toeristenbeperkingen in de Verboden Stad is er elke dag een zeer beperkt aantal tickets beschikbaar dat 7 dagen van tevoren via de app kan worden geboekt. Het Tiananmen-plein is gratis toegankelijk voor alle bezoekers, maar vooraf reserveren van echte namen is vereist met dagelijkse capaciteitslimieten voor bezoekers. Reizigers in het buitenland kunnen problemen ondervinden bij het navigeren in het officiële Chineestalige reserverings systeem. Rondom het plein liggen nationale bezienswaardigheden: het Monument voor de Volkshelden, het Nationaal Museum van China, de Grote Hal van het Volk, het Mausoleum van Mao Zedong en Tiananmen Rostrum. De Verboden Stad is het grootste en best bewaarde van de oude koninklijke paleizen ter wereld, en was ooit de koninklijke residentie van 24 Chinese keizers en talloze concubines. Het heeft een geschiedenis van 600 jaar oud. De Verboden Stad, ook bekend als het Paleismuseum, is een must voor bezoekers van Beijing. Het aantrekken van talloze toeristen van over de hele wereld elke dag. Vanwege het aantal toeristenbeperkingen per dag is het noodzakelijk om vooraf bezoekkaartjes te boeken. Het is aan te raden om minimaal 8 dagen van tevoren te reserveren. We sturen je 7 dagen van tevoren een succesvolle ticketaankoopmail, en dan hoef je alleen je paspoort mee te nemen om direct toegang te krijgen. Jade conducted the 4-hour tour in a very competent and personable manner. The time flew by, and despite the hot weather, there were always shady spots and air-conditioned rooms to pass through. Her English is excellent, so the group from Peru, Australia, the USA, and Germany got along very well and had a lot of fun.

My family and I had the pleasure of joining a guided tour of the Forbidden City and it was truly an outstanding experience. Our tour guide, Marco did an excellent job bringing the history of the Forbidden City to life. Marco did an excellent job bringing the history of the Forbidden City to life. Marco guided us thoughtfully through the stories of the various dynasties and emperors, explaining not just historical facts but also the significance of the architecture, traditions and the power structures of imperial China. The explanations were clear, engaging and easy to follow. What stood out most was Marco's depth and knowledge. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Beijing, if Marco is the guide. It was informative and exceptionally well delivered.

We went to the Forbidden City. It is a must if you are in Beijing, you can spend all day and still not see it all. Would go again. A mention to our guide Summer. She is fantastic. We booked the trip outside of our package trip. Summer's English was way better than that of our package tour guide. Turned up on time. She has obviously been to the Forbidden City lots of times, but used her knowledge of it to guide us through, allowing us maximum time to be there and still see all the places before they would close.
