Hoewel er verschillende historische monumenten in Armenië zijn, is de oudste en meest bekende waarschijnlijk de Bijbelse berg Ararat. Een plek die je tijdens je verblijf in Armenië niet mag missen, is het Tatev-klooster, dat eens het educatieve en spirituele centrum van Armenië was. Het is gebouwd op een hoogvlakte in de Vorotan-rivierkloof en wordt omringd door adembenemende bergen en dichte bossen. Je kunt hier bereiken met 's werelds langste kabelbaan Wings of Tatev.

Het Khor Virap-klooster ligt op ongeveer een uur rijden van de hoofdstad Yerevan en biedt een geweldig uitzicht op het bepalende symbool van Armenië - de majestueuze Ararat. "Khor Virap" vertaalt als "diepe kerker", en werd gebouwd op de plaats van de voormalige koninklijke gevangenis, gelegen op de historische plek van Artashat. Het was deze gevangenis waar ze Gregorius de Verlichter, de eerste Armeense Catholicos, dertien jaar lang vasthielden. Daarom is het geen verrassing dat deze plek een van de meest heilige plekken is voor Armeniërs over de hele wereld. Evenzo is het ook het dichtstbijzijnde punt bij de berg Ararat vanuit Armenië; heel vaak wordt deze plek de nummer 1 reden om ons land te bezoeken!
De tour brengt je naar de Bird's Cave. In 2008 ontdekten archeologen verschillende van 's werelds oudste artefacten, waaronder een leren schoen en een wijnmakerij. De site, die uitkijkt over de rivier de Arpa in de buurt van de stad Areni, dateert naar verluidt grotendeels uit de vroege bronstijd (ongeveer 5.000-6.000 jaar geleden). Het bevat ook bewijs van uitgebreide begrafenisrituelen en landbouwpraktijken.
Afgezien van Khor Virap, is Noravank een andere plek die je niet mag missen. Het is een van de juweeltjes van middeleeuwse Armeense architectuur, hoog genesteld tussen de prachtige steenrode kliffen aan het einde van de Gnishik-kloof. Hier ziet u de enige echte afbeelding van God de Vader in Armenië, die net zo verbazingwekkend is als het gezicht van Jezus Christus dat verscheen op de koepel van de narthex van de kerk. Gebouwd door Orbeliaanse edelen, onderscheidt het zich tussen onze kerken als het graf van deze adellijke familie, wat het uniek maakt omdat het sinds de 5e eeuw absoluut verboden was om mensen in een kerk te begraven.
De langste kabelbaan ter wereld (ca. 6 km), die in 2010 in het Guinness Book of Records werd geregistreerd. Tijdens uw rit geniet u van een spectaculair uitzicht over een van de mooiste plekjes van Armenië (zo niet in de wereld).
Een plek die je niet mag missen in Armenië is het Tatev-klooster, dat ooit het educatieve en spirituele centrum van Armenië was. Het is gebouwd op een hoog plateau in de Vorotan rivierkloof en wordt omgeven door adembenemende bergen en dichte bossen.
Wat de “finishing touch” van deze tour betreft, krijgt u de kans om de beroemde Armeense Areni-wijn te proeven en zelfs te kopen in Ar-Areni Winery.

The tour guide is very professional and very atmospheric, making it easy for everyone to interact. The car is comfortable, it is worth visiting the place, and finally go to a place selling Portuguese wine to try wine, although not my favorite taste, but still can try it, the price is reasonable.

We had a small group with Anastasia and she treated us like family. She was engaged, educational, and funny. Edgar our driver was quite impressive. The sights were stunning and the wine tasting was fun and not too long after lunch. And the spot we stop at for lunch is absolutely beautiful, on a small lake. Would do a tour with this group again!

Armenia is stunningly beautiful and such a different country! We are very lucky to have a guide - Anastasia is insanely interesting about the history of the country and its culture. Recently we were on 4 excursions from this agency, visited Khor Virap and Noravanka (03.04), Delijan and Lake Sevan (05.04), Garni and Gegard (09.04) and cable car in Tatev (11.04). We were very pleased. Liked the comfortable minibuses, treats and attitude in general. We even asked once to change our schedule for two tours and the agency was happy to help us. All the guides did well, especially remember Naira Vardanyan, Jasmine and Sona. Separately I want to note Naira V. - she tried to make the stay of all tourists comfortable, suggested beautiful locations for the photo and helped with any questions. We were very lucky to take her on two tours out of four. P.S. On the bus, seats are allocated on the basis of "first come, first come, best seat", so if you do not want to sit at the end - just come to the meeting in advance. P.P.S.
