Je bezoekt de iconische Khor Virap met uitzicht op de berg Ararat, verkent het prachtige Noravank-klooster en ontspant in het kuuroord Jermuk, beroemd om zijn warmwaterbronnen en waterval. De reis omvat ook een stop bij de Boog van Dromen en wijnproeverijen in de oude Areni-regio - waardoor het een rijke, schilderachtige en onvergetelijke ervaring is.

Veel mensen weten dat Armenië het eerste christelijke land ter wereld is. Het werd officieel aanvaard in 301 toen Grigor werd vrijgelaten uit de gevangenis van de hoofdstad, die hier eerder was. Hij zat hier 13 jaar gevangen vanwege zijn christelijke geloof. Als laatste hoop van de zieke koning genas hij hem, waarna de koning het christendom als staatsgodsdienst accepteerde. Tegelijkertijd opent zich vanaf hier het beste uitzicht op de berg Ararat. Heel dicht bij Ararat geeft je de mogelijkheid om de hele structuur van de berg te zien en de schoonheid ervan te bewonderen.
middeleeuwse Armeense smaak en architectonisch talent werden vermengd in Noravank, gesticht in de 9e eeuw, dit klooster ontwikkelde zich in de 13e en 14e eeuw. Omgeven door hoge roodgekleurde bergen en gebouwd van stenen uit die rotsen, Noravank harmonieus complementeert het lokale landschap, uniek in zijn soort te blijven.
Aangekomen in Jermuk gaan we de waterval bekijken. De 68-70 meter hoge "Mermaid's Braids" waterval vertelt ons de legende van een verboden liefde. Volgens deze legende vervloekt een prins zijn dochter omdat ze haar geliefde ontmoet heeft, en dan verandert ze in steen. Haar haar stroomt nog steeds in de vorm van water, daarom krijgt de waterval de naam "Mermaid's Braids."
Aan het einde van de tour bezoeken we het centrum van de wijnbereiding in het dorp Areni, waar we worden gehost door de Areni Wine Factory. Onze gasten kunnen verschillende soorten Armeense wijnen proeven, waaronder die gemaakt van Areni druiven. We zullen ook de kelder zien, waar de wijnen worden opgeslagen, en op de bovenverdieping is er een leuk café.

The trip to Jermuk with driver Arman exceeded all expectations! We want to express huge gratitude to Arman for his highest professionalism and comfort. The road to Jermuk is winding, but thanks to his careful and confident driving, we felt completely safe throughout the journey. Arman is not just an excellent driver, but also a wonderful person. He told us the best viewpoints, advised where to try the most delicious local food, and shared interesting facts about the resort. The car was in impeccable condition: clean, comfortable, and with air conditioning. If you are planning a trip to Jermuk, we sincerely recommend contacting Arman.

A Wonderful Experience and Exceptional Support I had a really enjoyable experience on this day trip. The tour was very well organised, with a great balance between sightseeing, interesting information from the guide, and enough free time to enjoy each of the places we visited. The itinerary felt well paced throughout the day, and everything was handled smoothly and professionally. Our tour guide was Satine Kyarunts. She was knowledgeable, approachable and attentive, and she did a great job of making the day enjoyable while also giving us plenty of interesting information about the places we visited. The transportation was comfortable as well, and overall the tour was very easy and pleasant to follow. Unfortunately, I had an accident during the trip and sustained an injury, which was obviously an unexpected and stressful situation. What really impressed me was how professionally and compassionately the tour guide responded. She immediately took the situation seriously and started coordinating with the relevant medical services to make sure I could receive appropriate care as quickly as possible. The driver was also incredibly helpful and took me to the nearest medical facility. At the same time, the rest of the group was able to continue the planned programme with another guide, so the situation was managed incredibly efficiently without unnecessarily affecting their experience. I felt genuinely looked after throughout the process, and both the guide and driver were incredibly supportive and empathetic. For me, this was particularly important because you only really see the quality and professionalism of a tour operator when something unexpected happens. In this situation, the team handled everything calmly, quickly and with genuine care. Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour. It was a very enjoyable and well-organised experience, and I was especially grateful for the kindness, professionalism and support of our tour guide when I needed it most.

Long tour, but enough time to explore the different sites. For lunch I would advise a location with a nice view, not a typical food court along the road.

This was one of my best trips. Professional team, well-organized and very safe. The guide Lili was beyond knowledgeable and helpful. - The itinerary is ambitious but also leaves relatively little time at each site. - Lunch stop was at an awful food court hangar. - Wine tasting totally underwhelming — they poured so little in the glass you could barely sense the wine (which turned out to be undrinkable, anyway). This stop should be entirely cut out. - Air conditioning in the car wasn’t functioning. This is unacceptable for a mid-summer excursion.
