Saona-eiland Het eiland Saona is de populairste excursie in de Dominicaanse Republiek. Het eiland is een natuurpark (beschermd als natuurreservaat), het is een maagdelijk eiland met prachtige stranden en sprakeloze kustlijnen vol palmbomen. Terwijl je op het eiland bent, kun je ontspannen in een stoellounge, rondhangen bij onze all-inclusive strandbar, beachvolleybal spelen. Rond het midden van de dag openen we ons strandbuffet voor een typische Dominicaanse lunch die bestaat uit: kip, varkensvlees, rijst, groenten, bonen, salade en fruit, of wandelen langs de kustlijn.

Isla Saona wordt omgeven door prachtige stranden en geschiedenis en is een van de meest gewilde plaatsen in het zuidoosten van de Dominicaanse Republiek.
Er wordt een stop gemaakt bij het natuurlijke zwembad van Playa Palmilla, ongeveer 200 of 300 meter van het strand, met het water op de knieën of in de taille, om te genieten van het perfecte landschap en klimaat. Zwemmers moeten genieten van ongeveer 800 meter parallel aan het strand, tussen het witte zand en het enorme koraalterras dat het natuurlijke zwembad scheidt van de open zee en dat dit geologische wonder mogelijk maakt.

The ad was for a day trip with transfers included from/to our hotel. On the morning of our trip as we were waiting for the transfer I checked my emails and had a message saying we needed to arrange an uber at our own extra cost to go on the trip. The ad and confirmation email both stated that we would be picked up from our hotel and our hotel was listed on the booking page, but the tour company said this was an error and the trip should have only listed hotels in the punta cana region. The tour company has agreed to refund us once it has been logged with tripadvisor, but I am unable to find a way to contact tripadvisor without leaving this negative review. I will delete the review once refund has been confirmed.
It was horrible The bus was 2 hours late The island was full of boats the facilities were dirty and broken down No lobster was offered They gave me 5 tiny shrimp… I’m allergic
We are very sorry for what happened, we did not know that he was allergic and it was explained to him that he could not be offered lobster.
We were picked up by a private taxi to bring us to Bayahibe for the charter. There, things seemed a bit disorganized but we got it sorted out. You take a boat ride out to the catamarans which in my opinion is a bit of a waste of time but being on vacation, it gives you a local flavour to the whole experience. We were supposed to stop on our way in to a Natural swimming bay but we went straight to Saona which is absolutely breathtaking in terms of setting. It is almost like taking a scene out of the Blue Lagoon. We took the lobster option. In order honour the option, we were switched out to another group. The food is okay and served as a buffet style. The lobsters were very tasty. The chairs are in need of love and they have some stagnant water so it is mosquitoes’ paradise and you serve as their buffet 😊. Bring some repellent or stay close to the beach. Another fun fact to keep in mind if you take the excursion, you may want to bring water shoes as there’s a lot of corals at the bottom as opposed to the sand of the beaches you are accustomed to. On our way back and because of the group switch we went from the Discovery 3 catamaran to the Nana one where mid way the staff didn’t suggest that a tip would be appreciated and leave it to your discretion but actually went from group to group almost demanding tips and insisting which to us was a complete turnoff and unheard of. The open bar is Ron, soft drinks and beer and the catamarans are okay but some of them need a bit of upkeep. Personally, I was a bit taken back as I was expecting a little better than what we had experienced in our past travels in Cuba. But their excursions, the organization that goes around the experience and catamarans are actually superior to the ones in La Romana. Buffet style food being served remains mass produced and an open bar will remain, in the Caribbean, Ron, soft drinks and beer. Overall, we’re on vacation enjoying the sun and sucking in the infinite ocean and breathtaking Costal views. You get a feel for the local flavours and enjoy the moment. Personally a little pricy for what is offered and if you have young kids, it may not be the ideal excursion as it takes on average almost 2 hours to get to the island and coming back. A special thank you to our taxi driver that patiently waited for us for over than an hour (I guess the organiser was confused as to what time we would be back at shore) Cloteo Philippe Fransua.
The island saona is most beautiful this tour loved everything, its very delicious food, the most beautiful beaches and the crystal clear sand very relaxing

It was a great time. The ocean is beautiful, but BE CAREFUL OF THE ROCKS, and the boat rides were amazing. I liked relaxing on the catamaran, best. We got the lobster deal and it was seasoned well too.
Signature island is gorgeous. The staff were kind and courteous. Lunch was decent and open bar was available. HOWEVER I bought this tour specifically because the lobster I'd had on the last your was awesome. Just felt like it was overpriced when you don't get what was promised. ALSO THE TOUR GUIDE WAS RUDE.

Beautiful weather. The boats and guides were great, the food and lobster was delicious, and the pictures turned our gorgeous! I bought souvenirs and the photos to support the locals as we'll ad a massage. The massage was great but should've definitely been longer. $50 for maybe 10/15 minutes. The tour seemed overbooked so not everyone had a life jacket, we were 4 to a seat and not everyone had a mask which might bother some, but who knows who has a vaccine. I still highly recommend this for to anyone well worth the money!
Beautiful everything, I loved the sea, the air the beach, the natural pool, the buffet liked everything. An excellent service I highly recommend them.
