The transportation was very limited. There was 2 people to a seat, but the seat did not seem to accommodate 2 people. It seems the van was too small for everyone to sit comfortably. Our driver spoke only Spanish, so there was difficulty with translation. Fortunately, our tour guide spoke Spanish and English. He was very informative about the places we visited, to include background information. The places we visited were very interesting and full of history. The included lunch was very good. There was quite a bit of walking, but rest breaks were noted.
Nice tour. Good driver, good guide.
We traveled to Punta Cana June 2024. Our driver came a bit late for us but in the end we had a great time. We shared our transportation with strangers that became friends
The city is a mess, dirty buildings and destroyed, people want to put their hand in your bag and swindle every one they can. The place is depressing and although it's safe, it's pretty dirty, the traffic is terrible, only the locals can drive there, without traffic signs. Do not use local taxis as they fall apart, they charge you very dearly. Use platforms and watch out for walking with cel in your hand. The tourist places are relatively well looked after and in everyone you have to pay, everyone goes for their tip and it is an expensive place as they charge you differentiated fee for talking differently from them!. Note: on prices it is more expensive than Costa Rica even in fast food restaurants, saving something is not an option!
Please, please, please don't waste your money booking with this company! We were not taken to the Three Eyes National Park to see the cenotes and were not told until we asked at lunch and were just told no, we don't go there today! That was one of the main things we wanted to see and were gutted we didn't get the opportunity. We also were not taken to the see palace or taken to walk down 'The Ladies' Street, all of which are advertised on the itinerary. We basically did a 6 hour round trip from the Bavaro area to spend over 1 hour at lunch and 1.5 hours in the city on a walking tour to see the 1st church of America the lighthouse museum and numerous souvenir shops that the tour guide obviously had deals with. We had two young children with us who are very used to travel, adventure holidays and sightseeing who were just expected to wait around outside souvenir shops (not what we went to do!) and got extremely bored, hot and fed up. An absolute waste of a day we could have spent doing something else, a waste of money and a very sad waste of an opportunity to see a beautiful city and its surroundings!
They picked us up at 7:20, at the stipulated time, without any information they took us to a place to wait with more people and catch the right bus. We were waiting until 8:30 and then changing transport in the middle of the road just opposite where our hotel was. Zero organization. The tour of Santo Domingo brief, for what we had the most time is to buy. The Guide guided us where we should buy the souvenirs. They told us it was the “most competitive” place to buy coffee and it turned out to be the same price as at the airport. Little explanation, most with Audio Guide. The buffet of very basic food (little to choose). The return also loosely organized, apparently the driver would have to leave us at one point to be returned to our hotels but late, it was up to him to go take each one.
The one day trip to Danto Domingo from Punta Cana was very nice! The communication was great! We were informed a day before about the pick up location and the pick up time! The driver was on time-everything went smooth! The minibus was very comfortable, with AC! The tour to Los tres Ojos was a great experience; we had plenty time to see the park! The city tour was a little bit rushed… I wish we had time to see more! The lunch was good! The guide gave us a few general information…. If we would’ve visit more, he probably would’ve explain more; the group was half Spanish half English and the guide did a great job explaining everything in both languages! Yes, we did stop at specific souvenir stores but nobody made any pressure on us to buy! I walked around in the center a little bit more while others preferred to shop and we all regrouped at the meeting point! I do recommend the tour! It was a long distance from punta cana to Santo Domingo indeed but we can’t complain about this; we knew it’s a long ride!!! I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I wish the tour will include a little more time to another attraction in the city- a walk on malecon or other activity…. We only visited the cathedral, which is very beautiful, but all the other places were only a pass by!!!
First, we were told to be in our lobby at 7am (which means we had to skip breakfast at the hotel, since it didn’t open until 7). Turns out, the driver was 30 minutes late. Second, our drive was supposed to be two hours, except they made several stops to pick up and drop off OTHER excursions, and it took FOUR HOURS of us sitting in a van to get to the destination. They also squeezed 15 of us into a small 10 person van. Driver was absolutely reckless, and he even rolled backwards into another car and a cop had to break up the situation. The sights itself were fine, but we didn’t get fed until 1:30pm. 7am to 1:30pm with NO FOOD. Also, you get maybe two bathrooms breaks if you’re lucky. They won’t stop while driving, and no options on the tour. Finally the drive home took yet again 4 hours. They picked us up first, dropped us off last. Absolutely ridiculous. Save yourself the time and money, and just google search some images of the history.
Excellent experience to get to know a little about the city and the history that is kept within its streets. Especially the attention and guidance of Miguelón, greetings from Ecuador!!
Trip was worth the money. Lots of history. Wish we could have picked our own shops to visit. Tour guide led us to his friend’s shops.
