Het kloostercomplex dat deel uitmaakt van deze dagelijkse rondleiding dateert uit de 13e eeuw. Saghmosavank wordt vertaald als het klooster van de psalmen. Volgens de legende werd de psalmzang van Gregorius de Verlichter kilometers ver gehoord, toen hij beweerde in de grotten onder de kerk. Het was ook beroemd om zijn middeleeuwse manuscripten en boekenopslag.
Onderweg stoppen we bij het Armeense alfabetmonument, waar je de kans krijgt om de eerste letter van je naam te vinden en er zelfs een foto mee te maken. Armeens is niet alleen een zeer oude taal, maar het is ook een onafhankelijke tak van de Indo-Europese talen, waardoor het anders is dan elke andere taal ter wereld.

Trip was great,the guide girl who study armenian history in Hungary start singing in Singing church -my jaw drop to the floor -it was beautiful.We did not like to go to chocolate factory so she adjust trip for us -it was wonderfull.

We had a very nice tour with Hasmik and the driver. Both were very very nice. We booked a group tour but it turned out that we had a private tour. Hasmik is a very sympathetic, friendly and knowledgeable guide. We had great times! Also the lunch was (as always) very good.

My wife and I spent a week in Armenia. We did several day trips within Armenia with Yerani Travel and always had a great time.
