Everything perfect, they stopped us at the checkpoints thinking we didn't have the reservation for the square, but by showing the voucher they let us pass.
It is very beautiful. The Forbidden City is something you cannot miss! I thank the girl from the Viator assistance center!

You can 100% do Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City without a guide. I went very early in the morning (6:00am) and walked straight through security with no queue. I did have to show the print out of my booking as well as my passport. After I left the Forbidden City I went back to Tianamen Square and had to queue for 1.5 hours to get back in. Other than queue lengths, there was no problem,

Everything that can be said about this place has already been said. There is nothing to add. Just visit it and see everything with your own eyes. Be prepared for the fact that there are a lot of people there.

The booking under this trip advisor is usable; show the guard, & they will let you in. However, there is a long queue due to strict security check, this ticket is not a skip of the line tickets. Everyone has to queue even though you bought the tickets in advance. The Forbidden City and Tiannanmen square are connected. You must go to Tiannanmen square first then only to the Palace. Don't commit the same mistakes happened to us that we entered the Palace first & cannot come back to go to Tiannanmen square unless you lined up up again minimum 1 hour. Because it is a 1 way entry, at the end is the exit. There is no turning back.

When purchasing the ticket instructions should be shared on how and which gate you should enter + plus contact number given with the booking they only speak Chinese.
The enter gate is WUMEN gate we clearly write it on the What make the ticket unique colume. And all our staff speaking good English, we don't know why you say so!
Things have changed since prior visits. Could have been because of National Congress meeting that day. Finding route to main entrance of Forbidden City and to Tiananmen Square was very difficult. Definitely need to book an appointment prior to going. Thankfully we had known based on other reviews. Our passport and visa were checked three times in trying to get there. Three different stops. Last stop. Bags were hand searched. Everything removed. Roll of electrical tape was confiscated.

Don’t use this service. The company was super difficult to communicate with, instructions were poor, One of my party was initially refused entrance because there was a screwup in passport numbers. It is my recommendation that Viator drop this supplier immediately.
Dear Lance, The passport details is provided by yourself, we exactly booked tickets with information you provided. if there are difference with your passports provided to the tickets office of Forbidden city, it's their judgement if you can go in or not. Thank you.
The forbidden city is a must. Wonderful, a unique visit, the best memories and postcards. Recommend, book in advance and if you go in winter, go very warm because it is very cold. Tiananmen is fabulous, a little traumatic access control. For these two destinations you CANNOT FORGET TO CARRY THE PASSPORT

I was worried that it was so easy to book, but I was able to book well. I think it would be easier to understand if I included additional explanations about admission. I would like to use it again next time.
