Tijdens deze privéwandeling van 3 uur door Berlijn haalt uw privégids u op bij uw hotel en laat u de belangrijkste hoogtepunten van Berlijn zien. Als u de Reichstag wilt bezoeken, helpen wij u bij het registreren van uw bezoek.

De Reichstag werd in 1894 gebouwd voor het eerste Duitse parlement. Na de Eerste Wereldoorlog werd het de thuisbasis van het parlement van de Weimarrepubliek. Toen, in 1933, kort nadat Hitler aan de macht was gekomen, verwoestte een brand een groot deel van het interieur en werd het gebouw gesloten. Hitler had geen parlement nodig. Pas bij de hereniging werd het gebouw gerestaureerd en was het nieuwe Duitse parlement klaar om zijn intrek te nemen.
De Brandenburger Tor is misschien wel de beroemdste bezienswaardigheid van Berlijn, nee, Duitsland.
Unter den Linden begint bij het paleis Hohenzollern en eindigt bij de Brandenburger Tor. Hier bevinden zich enkele van de oudste gebouwen van Berlijn, zoals de Opera en het Kronprinzenpalais.
Bezoek Sony Center met zijn verbazingwekkende architectuur en bekijk het oudste verkeerslicht van Duitsland. Bekijk de overblijfselen van de Berlijnse muur en architectuur van Renzo Piano, Hans Kollhoff en Helmut Jahn.
Op het terrein van het voormalige SS- en Gestapo-hoofdkwartier is de fundering van de gebouwen opgegraven en is een Documentatiecentrum toegevoegd. Je ziet ook de overblijfselen van de Berlijnse muur.
Dit was absoluut de beroemdste van de controleposten van de Berlijnse Muur. Deze was gereserveerd voor militair personeel en buitenlandse, voornamelijk Amerikaanse bezoekers die tijdens de Koude Oorlog het oostelijk deel van de stad wilden betreden.
Het mooiste plein van Berlijn met aan de ene kant de Duitse koepel en aan de andere kant de Franse koepel. In het centrum: Schinkel's Konzerthaus.
De Berlin Dome is de grootste protestantse kerk van Duitsland, gemodelleerd naar St. Peters. De Hohenzollern aanbaden hier vroeger en veel van hun familieleden, waaronder koning Friedrich Wilhelm I en zijn vrouw, zijn hier begraven.
De vijf musea op het Museumeiland zijn erkend als Unesco Werelderfgoed. Blijf na je rondleiding en bezoek het Pergamon en/of het Neues Museum!

We could not have had a more positive experience than with our guide, Winfried. He is a wonderful, warm, affable and highly knowledgable man who has lived a wide and varied life and thus has so much to offer. We had such a great time and learned so much about Berlin. As a long time resident, he was able to weave in his first hand accounts that made it all come to life in such a pleasant and personal manner. It also was wonderful to ride on public busses & trains with him, it not only helped us get around rapidly but demonstrated how easily we could later navigate it ourselves.

Definitely book in advance. At the beginning of your trip you will have a nice overview of the city. Audio guide taking and Dutch is possible. Both entrance and audio guide are free.

I had another company set up two private tours in Berlin. They chose A Friend in Berlin and my guide was Josh. I'm a bit remiss in posting a review. I had the tours in mid-September and then got carried away by the rest of my trip. But I enjoyed the tours so much I wanted to make sure that I gave them a five-star rating. Josh was knowledgeable, interesting and interested in my questions and what I wanted to see. The first tour was a Highlights of Berlin scheduled for the day after my arrival. I really felt that I got an excellent baseline of the city, its history and its culture. The second tour piggybacked on the first with a bit more emphasis on WWII. I would highly recommend A Friend in Berlin.
