Sachsenhausen was het eerste speciaal gebouwde concentratiekamp, gecreëerd als centrum van terreur, vervolging en systematische wreedheid. Aanvankelijk werden degenen die het naziregime als raciaal, sociaal of politiek ongewenst beschouwde gevangengezet. Reis door de stad Oranienburg en leer hoe de lokale gemeenschap verbonden was met het kamp. Uw Expert, gediplomeerde Gids leidt u langs belangrijke locaties, waaronder de strafcellen, ziekenboeg, barakken, gaskamer en crematoria, terwijl u krachtige verhalen over veerkracht en moed deelt onder gevangenen. De tour bezoekt ook de Inspectie van Concentratiekampen, het administratieve centrum dat het nazikampsysteem in heel Europa controleerde. Dit is een volledig begeleide en stressvrije ervaring. Onze gidsen verwelkomen en helpen u bij het ontmoetingspunt in Berlijn, begeleiden u de hele dag door en brengen u comfortabel terug naar het stadscentrum aan het einde van de tour. Neem de trein vanaf ons ontmoetingspunt bij de S+U Friedrichstraße naar Oranienburg. Oranienburg is de stad waar het voormalige concentratiekamp werd gebouwd.
Rijd met onze gids naar Oraninenburg S-bahn. Wandel door de stad en leer over hoe medeplichtig de mensen in de stad waren en zie waar de gevangenen vroeger werkten.
Sachsenhausen voormalig concentratiekamp. Kom aan bij het voormalige kamp en wandel door het binnenland van het eerste kamp dat speciaal is gebouwd om een concentratiekamp te zijn, zonder gebruik te maken van bestaande structuren. Zie de oude barakken, gevangeniscellen en martelcellen, Kampkeuken, Station Z (waar massa-executies plaatsvonden), de gaskamer en het crematorium. Je ziet ook de ziekenboeg en pathologiecentrum, evenals Toren A - de belangrijkste wachttoren.

We went on a tour guided by Xavier. He was an incredible guide providing lots of context and facts but with an engaging tone and pace. It was easy to follow and he explained in depth the sights and stories of the concentration camp.

We had Irish Paul as our tour guide to Sachsenhausen and we wouldn’t have had it any other way. Paul approached this historically and emotionally-complex topic with a laudable balance of fact and feeling - delivering a depth of knowledge in a manner which demonstrated clear empathy for, not only the groups affected in that time period, but also those who continue to be affected by similar regimes to this very day. he also gave us some great local pastry and bar recs! cheers paul for expanding our minds and our palettes!

This tour was easily one of the highlights of Berlin. Our tour guide Emma was so passionate and knowledgeable about the history, making every step of the tour an informational and fun one. She started off with some ground rules that we should know, set our expectations, and explained her background as a guide, making us feel very assured that we were in good hands. During the tour, we were kept on track and on time, and given a comfortable amount of time for each area that we were able to explore. Emma did well in adjusting things on the fly to rearrange how we visited the museums, ensuring that the route made sense but we hit as little crowds as possible. Her explanations were detailed and she was always open to answering questions. It is a somber place to visit, and she did a fantastic job at being educational and giving everything the respect that it deserved, while keeping us aware of anything that we could back out of if we felt it would be too much to handle. We could not have asked for a better organized or better run tour, and are very glad we picked this one.

The tour of the town and camp is interesting and moving. Our guide, Rohan, was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Be prepared for a LOT of walking. The day was hot, so that didn't help the walk. I still highly recommend the tour. A great amount of history shared.

Very powerful experience I was not satisfied with the guide. He seemed unwilling to answer questions and was very dour. The trip was supposed to end at 5 but it ended an hour early and we had no breaks on a very hot day.
