Het schiereiland Valdés is een beschermd natuurgebied Het belang van het schiereiland Valdés is te danken aan het feit dat de kust het leefgebied is van verschillende soorten mariene fauna zoals zuidkapers, orka's, dolfijnen, zeeleeuwen en zeeolifanten, pinguïns en nog veel meer soorten. De kalme wateren van de golven en de grillige kustlijn maken dit gebied tot een waar toevluchtsoord voor het zeeleven. Het schiereiland Valdés werd in 1999 door Unesco uitgeroepen tot werelderfgoed. Elk jaar ontvangt het duizenden Argentijnse en buitenlandse toeristen die naar de plek komen om te genieten van het observeren van dieren in het wild en de prachtige kustlandschappen.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
De starttijd van elke tour volgens het schema van elke cruise, probeer zo snel mogelijk uit te stappen zodra het schip aanmeert, zodat we de excursie zo snel mogelijk kunnen starten en we meer tijd hebben om van de rijden en op tijd terugkeren naar de boot. We wachten op je aan het begin van de pier (we raden aan om een shuttlebus te nemen). We wachten met een bordje op uw naam en een geel palet met tekening van een pinguïn We wachten niet langer dan 40 minuten totdat ze naar beneden komen en de tour beginnen. De excursie is inclusief een snack met mineraalwater (gelieve aan te geven of u speciale medische aandoeningen heeft, glutenvrij voedsel, vegetariërs, etc.) De vertrektijd van de Tour is afhankelijk van de aanlegtijd van uw schip

We met the tour operator at the port entrance, very quickly we became aware that they thought we’d already departed, another couple claimed to be us, they were on a mini bus tour not private. The car was called back and the situation quickly rectified. We still left the port area on time and were soon made very welcome by our guide Andrea and our driver Leandro. Our day ahead was explained to us and we were asked if there was anything else we’d like to see. Our drive out to Cruceros por la Peninsula Valdés was full of information about the area, what we could expect to see, and lots of our questions answered about living in Puerto Madryn. Andrea was very warm, friendly, passionate about her job and what she wanted to share with us, a real pleasure to be with. Leandro was full of information when assisting Andrea, if she wasn’t sure of the answer, she wasn’t afraid to ask him. Even though it was their first time together, you’d have thought it had been years by the very cohesive way they worked together. We saw just about all we could have expected to, Sea Lions, Elephant Seal, Guanaco, Rhea, Magellanic Penguins, Pichi, Tinamous and many other birds. You have to be very lucky to see Orca, Southern Write or any other Whales, this is Nature, and these sightings are very rare. Leandro was a very safe, conscientious driver who was constantly looking for wildlife as we transited between locations. He is a very thoughtful, considerate, friendly gentleman who made us feel very comfortable and safe. Andrea was so friendly and had a very likeable character, she is very dedicated to giving the correct information, knew so much about what we saw, told us about legends, history and the wildlife. Leandro was very knowledgable and keen to help us, Andrea’s English was very good and she translated for him and us, they are a great team and really made our day special. The tour was supposed to be around 6 hours, but between them they squeezed in so much more and still got us back to our ship in plenty of time after nearly 8 hours touring. It was an absolute pleasure meeting and touring with Andrea and Leandro. Thank you both very much!

Our guide was really good. Very well spoken, knowledgeable. He was passionate about his job. The problem with this tour is definitely not the guide. It's the distance you have to cover in a 6-7 hour timeframe (more than 400 kms, at least half of which is on dirt roads... and the fact that you will only see a few penguins and sea lions very far away. Better have a good camera lenses for pictures!

The variety of wildlife that we managed to see in the time available was great. The pick up was spot on time and place. Our guide/driver, Serge, was chatty and informative. He also managed to avoid the crowds and cover a lot of ground.
We had an amazing day with Sergio. From pick up, to sight seeing, everything was wonderful. We were able to see elephant seals, penguins, and tons of land animals also. I highly recommend this experience!
