Reisbureau "Land of Noah" organiseert een reis naar de parel van middeleeuwse Armeense architectuur - het Tatev-klooster, dat werd gebouwd in de 9e-13e eeuw. Dankzij de bouw van de Wings of Tatev, de langste kabelbaan ter wereld (5,7 km), is het complex uitgegroeid tot een van de meest bezochte plaatsen in Armenië. Op weg naar het klooster heb je de gelegenheid om Armeense wijn te proeven in de wijnmakerij Areni. Onze volgende bestemming is Khndzoresk. Je zult zien dat veel van de grotten door de mens zijn uitgehouwen. U vindt er de ruïnes van een dorp, een prachtige oude kerk, zeer oude grafstenen en de slingerende brug. Het is gebouwd in 2012 en heeft een lengte van 160 meter, een breedte van 1,5 meter en een hoogte van 36 meter boven de grond. De brug verbindt de twee oevers van het dorp. Bewonder het prachtige uitzicht op de kloof vanaf de brug.

My wife and I had two first class tours with tour guide Ms. Lilit from Land of Noah. From the very start, we found the agency most accommodating in terms of our particular touring preferences and needs. As for Ms.Lilit, she proved to be the most acomplished and amazing guide: not only does she have a great expertise in the history, geography, architecture and landscapes of Armenia but she also communicates it in a very engaging way. Our private guide as Arman, an energetic and thoroughly knowledgeable young man. We felt safe with Asen, our driver, as he navigated the mountain roads and occasional traffic. We had perfectly clear and sunny weather for the dramatic Wings of Tatev cable car ride - we have been on many before and this was one of the best. The Monastery was in a gorgeous setting and very historic. Arman, at our request, took us to a ocal kebab (BBQ) restaurant where we had the emost delicous lunch prepared by locals in a town close to the ropeway. The Khndzoresk cave town was fascinating and scenic and was accessible by a suspension bridge over a deep gorge - not at all scary- even though it is called the swinging bridge. Arman found a local 4x4l driver to take us up and down the hill to the bridge as my husband’s knee was not up to the 700 steps down and back. On the way back, we tasted a large variety of wines at the Areni Winery- a nice break in the long drive, If you wish to see tehe cave in Areni in which the oldest wine in the world was found, ask to see that in the morning to make sure that it will be open., A long but fun and interesting day! Highly recommended.
