Verken de meest verbazingwekkende attracties van Armenië! Bezoek het Khor Virap-klooster, een geweldige plek om de meest schilderachtige uitzichten op de berg te omarmen. Zie vervolgens het kloostercomplex, Noravank, dat uniek is in zijn constructie, aangezien de Kerk van de Heilige Moeder van God het enige klooster met twee verdiepingen in Armenië is. Bezoek daarna een oude grot genaamd "Birds-Cave" of Areni 1. Zie ten slotte Areni, een van de oudste nederzettingen in Armenië en is tegenwoordig beroemd om zijn wijnen.

Khor Virap is het beroemdste bedevaartsoord in Armenië, omdat het direct verband houdt met de adoptie van het christendom. Als staatsgodsdienst werd het christendom in Armenië in 301 aangenomen als gevolg van inspanningen van de heilige Gregorius de Verluchter, die, voordat hij koning Trdat de 3e tot het christendom bekeerde, gevangen zat in de kerker, waarover in de 17e eeuw een kerk van het Khor Virap-klooster werd gebouwd. Vanuit het klooster kan men het prachtige uitzicht op de Bijbelse berg Ararat bewonderen.
Langs een smalle weg, omringd door rotsen van honderd grotten, ontdekt men een scène van harmonie van architectuur met de natuur. Het klooster, verankerd met mooie architectonische oplossingen en luxe versieringen, is een van de helderste voorbeelden van Armeense architectuur uit de 13e eeuw. Noravank bestaat uit St. Karapet, St. Gregorius De Verlichter kerken en St. Astvatsatsin (Heilige Moeder Gods) twee verdiepingen tellende kerk, die opmerkelijk is voor zijn ideale constructieve en sculpturale werk.
Vayots Dzor en Areni dorp in het bijzonder is de bakermat van de Armeense wijnbereiding voor millennia. "Hin Areni" wijnfabriek opent de deuren van deze regio naar de wereld om de historische en inheemse Armeense druivensoorten te laten zien. Bij de wijnmakerij worden de historische tradities van het wijnmaken goed gecombineerd met state-of-the-art moderne apparatuur. Wijnfabriek "Hin Areni" heeft de capaciteit om meer dan 250 ton druiven te verwerken.
De grot ligt op 12 km van Yeghegnadzor, op de linkeroever van de rivier Areni. Het bestaat uit 3 hallen, heeft een oppervlakte van ongeveer 500 m2, waarvan het grootste deel nog niet is verkend. Als resultaat van studies werden metalen messen, fruitzaden, graanresten, touw, schalen, kleding, krenten en pruimen, gedateerd op 4200 - 3500 v.Chr., in de grot gevonden. De oudste leren schoen ter wereld werd hier gevonden. Het is meer dan 5500 jaar oud. Ook werden in hetzelfde gebied 's werelds oudste vrouwenrok (3900 v.Chr.) gevonden, evenals het eerste wijnhuis ter wereld. Tegenwoordig wordt de genoemde wijnmakerij beschouwd als de oude en wordt verwezen naar 4e millennium v.Chr. Niemand heeft in de grot gewoond, ondertussen was wijnconsumptie van rituele betekenis voor mensen.

Where do I begin? First off, our guide Rose is an absolute gem! We were lucky enough to be randomly assigned to her for two separate tours. She’s extremely knowledgeable not only about the sites we visited but all of Armenia and was able to answer all of our random questions. It was an absolute delight to spend 2 full days with her learning about the history of Armenia. Our driver Harout was an added bonus for the tour. He was careful and caring and made sure we were comfortable every step of the way. Can’t thank both Rose and Harout enough for making us feel right at home.

They visited Armenia with their friends in June 2026. On the advice of acquaintances booked 4 tours with this agency. Three tours were with departure from Yerevan and one sightseeing tour of the city. The tour operator worked on great. Everything was well organized, all tours started without delay, the minibus was comfortable, the announced tour program was fully implemented. It was nice to have water and umbrellas in the car. A special big thank you to our tour guide Mariam and a driver named Ara. In addition to being a very professional tour leader, Mariam proved to be a remarkably attentive, caring and soulful person. The four-day private tour turned out to be a fantastic experience. Armenia is a land rich in culture, traditions, and natural beauty that we were able to appreciate in the best way thanks to our guide, Gayane, who speaks Italian perfectly, and our driver Arachiel, who was kind and willing to accommodate every request. Gayane conveyed her love for her homeland by describing the architectural works not only from an aesthetic point of view but also helping us appreciate the culture.
