Tijdens één tour zie je 2 belangrijke kloosters: Khor Virap en Noravank. Bezoek aan de Vogelgrot. De grot werd ontdekt door een onderzoeker aan het Instituut voor Archeologie en Etnografie van de Nationale Academie van Wetenschappen van de Republiek Armenië, archeoloog Boris Gasparyan, het had veel vogelnesten, waardoor de alternatieve naam aan de grot werd toegewezen - Vogel. En we sluiten de dag af in de Areni-wijnfabriek, waar u de gelegenheid krijgt om Armeense wijnen te proeven

De naam van het Khor Virap-klooster wordt vertaald als "diepe kerker". De eerste Catholicos van alle Armeniërs, Sint Gregorius de Verlichter, zat hier 13 jaar gevangen op bevel van de Armeense heidense koning Tiridates III voor het prediken van het christendom. Toen de koning door een ziekte werd getroffen, zag zijn zus een droom: een engel vertelde haar dat Tiridates pas zou worden gered na de bevrijding van Gregorius de Verlichter. Zo liet de koning Gregorius de Verlichter vrij, en laatstgenoemde genas de koning. Na de genezing riep de koning het christendom uit tot staatsgodsdienst. Khor Virap heeft een belangrijke historische betekenis voor Armenië. Tegenwoordig hebben toeristen de mogelijkheid om af te dalen in de ondergrondse kerker die zich in de St. Gregorius de Verlichter-kapel bevindt. Het beste uitzicht op de heilige berg Ararat opent vanaf het grondgebied van het klooster.
Het Noravank-klooster ligt in de provincie Vayots Dzor, 3 km ten noordoosten van het dorp Amaghu. De naam van het klooster wordt vertaald als "nieuw klooster". Noravank werd gebouwd in de 13-14e eeuw. Het kloostercomplex bevindt zich op een steile berghelling, vlakbij de klif. Het territorium wordt "omlijst" door ongebruikelijke kliffen met een felrode kleur, die een zeer schilderachtige achtergrond vormen voor de gebouwen. Noravank was in de Middeleeuwen een belangrijk cultureel en spiritueel centrum; het diende ook als de residentie van de bisschoppen van de provincie Syunik. Het Noravank-klooster is een van de meest bezochte attracties in Armenië. Het complex is een magnifieke architectonische en artistieke creatie. Het klooster werd volledig gerestaureerd.

Mensen die goede wijnen waarderen en geïnteresseerd zijn in de geschiedenis van oude architectuur, zullen zeker verliefd worden op het kleine Armeense dorp Areni. Sinds 2009 wordt hier elk najaar het festival "Areni Wine" georganiseerd; meer dan 100 soorten beste Armeense wijnen worden op het festival gepresenteerd en bezoekers kunnen jonge en oude wijnen proeven en kopen die zijn geproduceerd in de Areni-wijnmakerij.

Another unforgettable excursion thanks to a one way tour. Seeing Mount Ararat up close must have been impressive. Visits to Khorvirap and Noravank churches each telling a rich and ancient story. Thanks to Lusine’s explanations, I was able to better understand the cultural and religious importance of these places. After this part of the day, leaving for Jermuq was another wonderful moment. The natural beauty of Jermuq Unbelievable. Many thanks also to Ando our driver, for his exemplary driving throughout the excursion.

Went on the tour with Hasmik Karapetyan as our guide and Norik as the driver. Took my university friends from Germany and can't recommend the tour enough. Hasmik is very friendly and has really good English, knowledge, and passion about everything. Witty jokes make the whole trip more memorable!

I took part to a tour with the One Way agency on november 2023. We visited Khor Virap, Noravank, Jermuk and a wine producer in Areni. All the schedules were realized on time and the guide, Nina, could be very helpful and give interesting insights on the attractions, both in Englissh and in Russian. The experience, then, has been generally positive. I just think that the tour could preview a visit to some wineyards instead of proposing only a factory were the wine is produced: this, especially on summer-autumun, would make it just perfect!

We had a bilingual (English-Russian) trip with an excellent tour guide, Gayane. The trip was well scheduled, leaving enough time at each stop, including also a lunch break. Gayane was giving a lot of interesting information about all the places we visited, making the tour informative and enjoyable. Entrance fee has to be paid only at the cave but it's worth the short visit there. The only thing that shadowed a little bit the tour that on the way back our bus has broken down before reaching the final stop, thus we had to take the metro, and the air conditioner was scarcely working on the way. Instead, Armenian music was accompanying us during the travel on the bus, it was quite loud for me.
We love to know that this tour was educational and interesting. We always try to do our best to give you positive memories. We are waiting on your return, because there are still many places to discover together. Thank you very much for giving us your trust, it is something invaluable for us.
it was in english, bus with air-conditioning (sometimes not working). Driver good (but keep in mind armenian traffic is terrible). pay attention for change at coffee shop and seller I get soured milk . If they see you are a foreigner they are saying a higher price. Guide (Gayane) was very nice with a lot of information and correct time limits. Lunch was at a good big place. there are water(fountain) at stops, sometimes just for this reason (but worth asking for it). 1500 for birds cave worth út, but dont expect a long journey. lot of steps ín general. A good trip for introducing you Armenia out of Yerevan.
